Chronicling the creeping demise of Diversity™, Equity™, and Inclusion™, otherwise known as institutionalized racism.
Medical schools no longer incentivized to practice institutionalized racism
“Medical schools won't be graded on diversity amid federal, state crackdown,” reads the headline.
Translation: “Medical schools will no longer be rewarded for rejecting white and Asian students.”
Via USA Today (emphasis added):
Citing state crackdowns on diversity, equity and inclusion, the organization that accredits medical schools has dropped diversity as a measure of the quality of medical education.
The Liaison Committee on Medical Education on May 19 voted to eliminate diversity programs and partnerships as criteria when it grades the performance of medical schools that confer "MD" degrees to students.
The liaison committee said it acted because new and proposed state laws targeting diversity, equity and inclusion conflict with the accrediting body's standards. Eliminating diversity standards would create "a single set of accreditation expectations with which all schools, regardless of their location and current legislative environment, must comply," the liaison committee said in a statement.
You will note that none of these organizations’ leaderships have seemingly undergone any moral epiphanies regarding their institutionalized racism as the impetus to give up the ghost; their decisions are universally merely framed as legalistic maneuvers to avoid the big bad federal government from coming down on them.
Which means that their cultures haven’t changed at all. Once a Democrat or a squish RINO gets back into power and reverses all of Trump’s policies, it’ll be back to square one.
To the extent anti-white discrimination isn’t already explicitly prohibited in federal canon, Congress needs to pass hardcore laws banning anti-white racism. But, so far, we have seen very little initiative from the Republican-controlled Congress on that front.
‘Black faith leaders,’ not satisfied with ‘Target fast,’ set sites on Dollar General
As reported in a previous DEI Deathwatch a couple of months ago, “black faith leaders” instituted a “Target fast” — a protest against the corporation’s tepid walkback of its most egregious DEI policies —to coincide with Lent in a weird marketing gimmick blending Christian tradition and Social Justice™.
Now they’re moving on to Dollar General.
Via USA Today(emphasis added):
“A leader in the Black faith community who has been spearheading a consumer boycott of Target is expanding his group's efforts to put pressure on another retailer he said has retreated from diversity, equity and inclusion.
Next up is an electronic protest of Dollar General starting immediately. The protest will entail flooding the discount retailer's email account and phone lines and a social media campaign to get it to change course…
The call to action for Dollar General will be different from Target's, Bryant said. Instead of boycotting shopping at Dollar General, the group is calling for "a mass technological campaign of telephone and e-mail and social media." Supporters will be encouraged to clog the retailer's phone lines and email and use social media to pressure Dollar General to reinstate its DEI initiatives, Bryant said.
Shoppers who want to stay away from Dollar General can, but Bryant is not calling for a full boycott because "a lot of our family members in rural communities are at the hands of Dollar General because of food deserts that bring a whole other conversation."
There are numerous reasons to not want Dollar General or other similar “dollar stores” in one’s community: they’re tacky; they suck the lifeblood out of the local economy; they sell plastic garbage from Chinese sweatshops in a race to the bottom; whatever food they do sell is processed nonsense.
Here’s what’s not a legitimate reason to eschew dollar stores: the corporation not handing out slavery reparations or whatever other demands the Al Sharpton knockoff “reverends” of the world demand.
