Jaw, Jaw, Jaw, Jaw
Remember last week when Iran said that an attack on Syria would be considered an attack on Iran? And then remember when the Israelis blew up that weapons convoy in Syria? Well, here’s the fearsome Iranian response:
They will regret this recent aggression,” Saeed Jalili, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, told a news conference in Damascus a day after holding talks there with President Bashar al-Assad.
Jalili likened Israel’s attack on a military compound north-west of Damascus on Wednesday to previous conflicts including its 34-day war with Lebanon’s Shi’ite militant group Hezbollah in 2006, all battles that he said Israel had lived to regret.
“Today, too, both the people and the government of Syria are serious regarding the issue. And also the Islamic community is supporting Syria,” he said.
Perhaps next time they could also issue a memo to go along with the protest.

They don’t like pointing out that their strategic military reach is severely limited. And they don’t want to point out WHY Israel targeted that convoy.
Also: LOL on the 2nd Israeli-Lebanese War. That didn’t turn out well for Hezbollah. And with Bibi in power in Israel for the forseeable future, there’s no way Israel repeats their mistakes from that war.
Please do enjoy this recent takedown of the announcement of the Iranian Stealth Fighter, the Qaher 313:

Seriously. They announced this to the world with a straight face.
Caught that one on slashdot.org. Yes it’s very funny, and obviously as real as the plane in Firefox. Using an RC model for the “flight test” video was just terrific. These guys are ready to do their own Sy Fy original movie.
I found myself asking why they would bother to try to foist so obvious a fraud on us here in the West. I mean, the average EAA chapter at the airport near you has enough technical knowledge to be able to tell that this is a fraud and give specific examples of how and where it wont work, so the question at play here is ” Who are they trying to kid?”
Then I realized, its not about us. Its about boosting the morale of their own people, which tells you a lot about the situation on the inside of their borders.
What the regime is playing here is a game of “me too” a strategy that when its used in business, signals the beginning of the corporate “death spiral”. The purpose here is to sell the little people on the idea that the regime is playing with the big boys on the world stage and therefore must be very powerful and important.
I guess when they captured and displayed the “Beast of Khandahar” last year it must have set tongues a wagging saying “Why dont we have one of these? How come out scientists cant make anything like this?”
Maybe they can say that Isrealis smell like elderberries, and demand a shrubbery.
Iran really had nowhere to go, threat-wise, after repeatedly announcing their plan to wipe Israel off the map”. Why would Israel care what Iran says or does after that? It must all just sound like the waa-waa-waa of an adult in a Peanuts cartoon.
