Come for the Civil War, Stay for the Civil Unrest
REUTERS: France to stay in Mali until stability restored. Here are the details:
France will end its intervention in Mali only once stability has returned to the West African country, French President Francois Hollande said on Tuesday, raising the prospects of a costly, drawn-out operation against al Qaeda-linked rebels.
Paris has poured hundreds of soldiers into Mali and carried out air raids since Friday in the northern half of the country, which Western and regional states fear could become a base for attacks by Islamist militants in Africa and Europe.
That’s a fifty year project, as I wrote about Iraq before the war there began. We stayed for nine. We showed more patience with Afghanistan, even though it’s a country less deserving of it for reasons strategic and practical. And the place will still fall apart (or worse) as soon as we leave.
There’s nothing about Mali to make me think it will be any different there.
As has been said, history does not repeat itself … but it does rhyme.
So in a decade or so, the French will ask us to take over the defense of Indochine … oops, I meant, Mali …
‘Cept in a decade or so the US will neither be in a financial or military position to take over anyone’s half-ass overseas combat mission. China might be interested in picking up the slack. And might be able to do it. Big maybe.
It’s very do-able. Copnquer the country… then burn every single mosque and kill the clerics of Islam. Unless you are willing to do the follow-through, then do not bother. The other option is to just bomb it all to ruins, burn them out.
Islam is a disease in need of aggressive, radical treatment.
Somebody tell the French, ” you win the war by KILLING all the bad guys!!”.
It also helps if you passify the country – take away all the guns from muzloids and arm the christians and blck africans to the teeth.
Then leave!!
