Pegging the Creepometer

Joe Manchin sounds a lot like Big Brother in this press release:
The President called me this afternoon. We agree that as Americans and parents, all of our children belong to all of us – and we must work together to keep our precious children safe.
Back. The F***. Off. Not one bit of my children belongs to you or to anybody in DC.
I can’t be the only one who sees it that way.

You’re not. It also enfuriates me that he is talking about getting assault rifles off the street. He is a gun owner and, while other gun control advocates may be ignorant, he certainly knows assault rifles have been illegal since than the 1930s. And I don’t believe he simply mispoke.
It Takes a Village–where everyone raises and protects their own kids.
When was the 13th Amendment repealed?
You’re not alone. I’m holding both middle fingers in their direction. BUT for the record, sending my kids to DC might be considered an act of war. It would at least re-enact Ransom of Red Chief.
My children are MINE.
Ah! West Virginia and Missouri!
Their respective populations have always been intellectually suspect. The fact that those rootin’ tootin’ hillbilly shooting rubes reelected two lying scumbags proves they really ARE stupid! Your guns are history, you dolts! And you elected them, because they said, “Trust me. I love you.” The Democratic Party is now run by Commies, but I guess you won’t ever get it, even whenthey put you in the ovens.
“SHOW ME” WHAT? precisely? you frikken idiots?
I guess you’ll reelect them next time, too, since your memories only can be measured in nanoseconds.
You are most likely not the only one who believes your children do not belong to others or DC but sadly, I doubt if you are in the majority.
I’m going to go with, “that doesn’t make sense. What is he trying to say?”
I know it seems like our civil and human rights have a straight line run to the national dumpster, but take heart. Things are not as bleak as they might seem.
Example?
After the Japanese Tsunami destroyed a nuclear power plant, everyone was sure that the Japanese people and their politicians would surely use this as a reason to back away from nuclear power.
Well, that didn’t happen. In the most recent election, the Anti-Nuclear party got a whopping 8 seats in parliament. And the winning party actually ran on a platform that included the construction of more – not less – nuclear power!
Look, I know that we are undergoing an unprecedented level of liberal social-psychological conditioning in our media, every day feels increasingly like we all live in Patrick Mcgoohans “Village”, but try to take a deep breath now and then. Things are not as bleak as they might seem.
Frankly, they never are.

He must be struck by all these people who believe that they are responsible to raise their kids.

You didn’t build that!
