The NYT Provides the Spin So You Don’t Have To
November 15th, 2012 - 7:39 am
This is an actual unretouched lede from today’s Times:
Israel on Wednesday launched the most ferocious assault on Gaza in four years after persistent Palestinian rocket fire, hitting at least 20 targets in aerial attacks that killed the top military commander of Hamas, damaged Israel’s fragile relations with Egypt and escalated the risks of a new war in the Middle East.
Stupid Israel, defending itself.

One of these days the NYT will go bankrupt.
That’ll be an interesting day when Tucker Carlson or someone on the right buys them just for their internal memos.
Some wealthy businessmen on the right really need to pick up some of these legacy media outlets as they become available on the cheap and eliminate the progressive stranglehold. That would have made a far better investment for Sheldon Adelson than putting his $100mm in Romney and Gingrich super-pacs, as just one example.
Offers have been made for various Media and have been refused, even though the outlets were for sale. The liberals who own these things refuse to sell to any but fellow travelers. Besides, they can use the losses to offset profits in other areas.
It’s amazing that no mater how many rockets Hamas launches, it doesn’t “escalate the risks of a new war in the Middle East.”
So there’s a new ME war going on and Washington is about to go through a “fiscal cliff” that guts defense, making our entry into the conflict an even more remote possibility. Something tells me Bibi feels the leash around his neck getting very loose.
The only bright spot in all is is that most everyone now realizes what a joke the NYT has become.
Carlson buying it for the internal memos is a great idea, ’cause the only thing that equipment can be used for is printing newspapers, and that business is assuming ambient temperature.
Hey, at least they mentioned the “persistent Palestinian rocket fire”.
So there’s that.
So, lessee here; according to the Times, Hamas terrorist leaders are really military leaders. Right?
Given that said leaders were certainly involved in the missile attacks, one must draw the conclusion that the Palestinian military has committed multiple acts of war against the sovereign state of Israel.
I blame Bush.
Is that why the Zionists are murdering Palestinian children? Typical New Afrikaaner Israel-First apologists.
While Hamas kills Israeli women and children, you blame Israel. Typical neo-Nazi Palestinian apologist.
Those Hamas rockets were launched by cowards who hid near women and children, so it should be no surprise that women and children are killed when Israel retaliates.
But you knew that already, didn’t you.
Cet animal est très méchant; quand on l’attaque il se défend…
Since, thanks to Obama, Israel has nothing to lose internationally, it’s time for Israel to settle scores of scores.
Has anyone seen the Israel media offensive? It’s like they figured out how Twitter and Youtube worked. There’s been a stream of photos, tweets and facebook posts from IDF public relations (with a strong hint that they are in touch with ZAHAL command), and youtube videos. It’s embarrassing when they are literally picking apart BBC reports that are obviously dripping with bias.
And it’s working.
Libs are having to resort to authoritarian means to get the Israeli stuff removed from online. But that only points out that the damage is done.
I’ll enjoy the next ten years or so when liberals clutch in vain their newspapers and TV news programs while libertarians and Republicans make a nice niche for themselves in a much more robust social media platform.
This is currently one of the stories headlined on CNN’s home page:
Never mind the ethics and consequences of firing rockets indiscriminately into civilian populations. Never mind placing launchers in the middle of school yards and mosques. Never mind staging deaths and injuries for a credulous press in order to make Israel look bad.
No, never mind all of that. It’s “giving a megaphone to the military.” Because heavens knows we don’t want the military to actually, you know, get the facts out.
Fucktards. The lot of them.
Actually NukeEm, I read CNN’s whine-fest as a implicit admission that THEY are a part of the story (or at least want to be), and they don’t like the “other side” (namely Israel) taking away THEIR chosen narrative. Which, of course, is designed to say “Palestine!victims! victims! victims!” and nothing more.
It’s whiny, blatant editorializing in newsprint, dripping with bias, and I’m sure it’ll be erased within the next few hours. Can’t have anyone looking behind the curtains at the Wizard of Oz.
Oh, and it also means that my point is validated. As Charlie Sheen would say “Israel’s military and social media? WINNING.”
One can only wonder how the phrase “after persistent Palestinian rocket fire,” — even as it’s written, as a minor, insignificant and irrelevant factoid, just thrown in for no particular reason — managed to get put in there and printed at all.
How is Hamas any different than Irgun and The Stern Gang?
