Sharks Gotta Swim, Bats Gotta Fly

You stay classy, Democrats.
Wait — are Democrats really celebrating in the crudest way, a massive tax hike on everybody, and a vast increase in state power?
But of course they are.

It’s a tax, bitches!
Congratulations. You own it.
Equally important to it being a tax, O-care is now not supported by either “Interstate Commerce” nor “Necessary and Proper”. Both of those are the typical non-limiting Constitutional authority for nearly every port-side power grab. Roberts has thrown down the gauntlet and said “that road ends here, b!+ch3z!”
I actually found this decision to be remarkably reassuring, believe it or not.
Until the next market bubble collapses, whereupon class warfare will once again resonate with a miseducated electorate. This new unlimited tax power will lead to all sorts of fun, and opportunities for people to say “I told you so.”
What it won’t lead to is more respect for the rule of law, which is essential for a free country.
A couple of bloggers I read (the Anchoress, for one) think Roberts did the right thing. Now, we can vote out as many Dems as possible, and repeal the monstrosity. I agree, and if she is right, Justice Robert’s legalosity fu is strong.
Gotta love Tom Lehrer!
Did no-one teach these people how to be gracious in both victory and defeat? Of course not. But now, the Dems own this monstrosity — excuse me, this tax, and it will be hanging like a millstone around their necks for the next few months.
It’s going to get even more interesting.
To paraphrase Leonidas, “Pray they remain that stupid, pray we remain that lucky.”
I am astonished that anyone believes some of these Dems.
