Lighting a Fire Under Amazon

B&N might be preparing a new and improved Nook tablet to go head-to-head against the Kindle Fire at the $199 price.
I think the old Nook, at $249, is a better deal and a better tablet than the Fire. I’m almost tempted to pick one of these up if the story pans out.
I’ve had first and third gen Nooks. Third gen model, e-reader only, is awesome. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. We also have an iPad2 in the house, and it is awesome too for what it does, which is definitely not an e-reader.
Competition is good.
I would like to point out that this little evolutionary branch of computing has just about killed off the traditional windows platform, to which I would like to add “Thank God!”.
