Do you know who is blocking the President’s bold tax plan? The one that will rescue our nation from financial ruin? The plan that will create eight million new high-paying green jobs by a week from Friday and scratch the chin of every single homeless kitten in the whole entire world? Who stands in Obama’s way? The Tea Party, that’s who!
Moderate Senate Democrats are signaling strong resistance to tax increases in the President’s deficit-reduction plan, and the early disapproval within his own party will no doubt give Republicans on the deficit super committee plenty of cover to block any and all revenue-raising aspects of Obama’s plan.
AdvertisementSen. Ben Nelson (D-NE) told reporters Monday night that he’s put off by all the talk about increasing taxes when he believes the primary and only goal of the deficit super committee should be finding cuts to hack away at the deficit.
“Tax increases have to come second to cutting,” he said. “I was just home over the weekend and that’s what [my constituents] we’re all talking about.”
Of course, this story comes from the super-right-wing Talking Points Memo, so it’s probably all just made up. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go step on a kitten.

I am of mixed feelings on this.
It would be good to focus on replacing the far-Left Dems, not the Conservative Dems. Having some on the other side with whom we can have a rational discussion and come to some terms is a good thing. Such discredits the left-wing moonbats far more effectively. It gives the value of a bipartisan consensus on things.
On the other hand, clearing out all but the most extreme Dems strips the Dem Party of any credibility whatsoever.
Perhaps getting the likes of Nelson and Landrieu and a few others to caucus with the Republicans, even before the election, would be the best. They stay Dems, but disavow the Marxists of their Party. I dunno. They might simply have to switch Parties. But, then they’d be RINO’s. I’ll have to think it over some.
problem being, the far lefties are in safe districts. We need to be content with the Scott Browns, knowing they’ll fail us at times, but they’re better than Ted Kennedys. Capture the center and move the pendulum back in our direction.
You can forget ever getting rid of Marxist Senators from Warsaw Pact States like CA, MA, NY, VT and IL.
VT is so far gone, that one of their Senators openly admits to being Socialist – and the one who doesn’t admit it actually has an even further left voting record than the one who does!
I am familiar with VT, and 40 years of NY and MA leftists migrating there have truly transformed it into an irredentist Marxist state. To read newspapers and watch TV up there really seems to give you a taste of what the USSR was like with Pravda, Izvestia and Tass.
Of course, like the European states they seek to emulate, they have few kids and the ones they do have end up leaving.
