Special Election Panic Attack
When was the last time a New York Times story made you giddy? Think back, take your time. Nothing? OK, how about this one then:
Sensing trouble [ya think? -ed.], the Obama campaign and Democratic Party leaders have mobilized to solidify the president’s standing with Jewish voters. The Democratic National Committee has established a Jewish outreach program. The campaign is singling out Jewish groups, donors and other supporters with calls and e-mails to counter the Republican narrative that Mr. Obama is hostile to Israel.
Among those efforts is a multi-page set of talking points circulated last Friday with the title, “President Obama’s Stance on Israel: Myths vs. Facts.” David Axelrod, a close Obama adviser, has sent e-mails to Jewish voters, pointing them to a speech by the Israeli defense minister, Ehud Barak, praising Mr. Obama and saying he had deepened the military cooperation between the United States and Israel.
Let’s think about that. President Obama is spending time and money trying to nail down the Jewish vote. In New York. This is akin to the GOP having trouble with the Mormon vote. In Utah. Now the story’s lede claims that
Not since Jimmy Carter in 1980 has a Democrat running for president failed to win a lopsided majority of the Jewish vote.
But that’s not quite true. Reagan did better with Jews than any other GOP presidential candidate — and he still got only 35% of the vote. 65-35 is still pretty lopsided, yes? Especially given that anything more than 53% is considered a landslide.
But, to steal a line from Ed Driscoll stealing a line from Small Dead Animals paraphrasing a line from Mike Meyers, “Now is the time on VodkaPundit when we juxtapose.” Here’s one of those telling details from CNN’s Political Ticker:
The Republican National Committee raised over $8 million in August, the highest amount the group has raised in an August of a non-election year and reportedly more than $2 million more than their Democratic counterparts.
But what is CNN not telling you? That August included the president’s big birthday fundraising efforts — and the DNC played it up for all it was worth. So much so, that Senate Democrats complained Obama was sucking all the air out of the room. Even so, Teh Won couldn’t beat the RNC during his own birth month. And to think the closest thing the RNC had to a big theme was, “Trying to suck slightly less than the DNC.” That’s not exactly setting the bar very high, especially with Debbie Wasserman-Schultz still in charge.
Makes you wonder if there’s a bus headed Debbie’s way.
Anyhoo — Obama is busy trying to rope back in one of his core constituencies, at the same time he’s trying to sell a dubious nation on a “jobs” bill so unloved that even Senate Democrats can’t stomach it. The Complicit Media is trying to spin that as a win, but the real spinner is the president. I’ll explain that in just a moment.
You see, while all this is going on, the Solyndra scandal is gaining traction and Daily Kossacks are starting to call on Obama to pull an LBJ and withdraw from the race next year. The MSM will do what it can to palliate the effects of Solyndra, and nothing will come of Progressive fantasies of replacing Obama with… I dunno, the ghost of Lenin or whatever. But they’re still more things that will suck up Obama’s time, energy, and money.
The president is one of those plate-spinner guys. And more plates keep appearing for him to keep up in the air. And the economy has one hand tied behind his back. Eventually, the whole mess comes crashing down — and the NY09 election yesterday might just have been the first broken plate.

Yesterday’s creepy/hilarious AttackWatch and the “LOVE ME” speech reflect a rapidly unraveling narcissist.
I am thinking that Obama should adopt Cheap Trick’s classic as his campaign song.
I want you to want me… I need you to need me… I’d love you to love me… I’m begging you to beg me… (apologizes to those who memorize lyrics)
And the name “Cheap Trick” perfectly sums up the whole of Obummer. Actually, I guess he has been a pretty expensive trick, but you know what I mean…cheap, as in tawdry, tacky.
And the name “Cheap Trick” perfectly sums up the whole of Obummer. Actually, I guess he has been a pretty expensive trick, but you know what I mean…cheap, as in tawdry, tacky.
LOL over you finessing the meaning of “cheap”. Shall we also discuss the other, more highly-charged definition of “trick”? As in what one calls the act requiring a monetary deal between john & hooker? Only problem, WE are the ones who’ve been screwed …
Only problem, WE are the ones who’ve been screwed …
and the ones who have to pay for it!
aka: cheap, but expensive.
“Makes you wonder if there’s a bus headed Debbie’s way”
Nope. She is the fall guy for the coming election disaster… and she doesn’t even know it. The Dems know they are going to lose BIG! They’ll need a scapegoat. I doubt anyone likes DWS. She is the perfect choice. She is just stupid enough to say all the necessary vile things and lie her butt off. She’ll sell her soul for her Party, then they will throw her under the bus.
Oh, and she’ll lose her own House race, too, I expect. They’ll be rid of her, and have a scapegoat, too.
As for Obama not running, that may indeed be plan B. He withdraws after the filing deadline has passed, and it goes to the DNC. They then choose Hillary. All the Republicans’ campaign efforts against Obama are wasted.
The fly in that ointment is getting Obama to cooperate. I do not believe for a second that he will. They anointed this narcissist, and they will be hoisted by that particular petard.
Am I giddy about this article? No. I am laughing, though. I smell the fear. I see what they are hoping to do with all these attacks on Obama from the Left. These are not random. The Left does not do random. They get marching orders. They are desperate, but not dangerous.
The danger comes from the incompetence of the Republican Party. It is their election to lose, but they are renowned for such. At least this time, they are not facing a solid opponent. These stumblebums may be able to beat the other guy’s stumblebums.
Honestly, never in my life have I ever seen the two Parties be as pathetic as they are now. Our society has truly sunk to new lows.
Just curious, M.M. — who would you like to see run for, or BE, pres. then?
good question. Of the currently available lot, Palin is the best. She’d be an effective President, and we would see some real reform. Still, she, like the rest, are 2nd-tier candidates.
Mitch Daniels is quality stuff. John Kasich is good. He definitely strays from the Conservative line at times, but he has done a great job in OH. Bill Owens, former Governor of CO was a truly effective Governor, but I do not know enough about his politics.
Jay Fishman, the CEO of Travelers Insurance is a tremendous talent and a truly humble man. His company continued to profit during the 2008 meltdown, because he never let it get into things that were not its business. It is possibly the best-run company in the USA. He’d be my first choice. Google him.
There are plenty of first-rate folks out there… but they are not running. America’s political Parties are felony stupid for not finding and drafting really fine talent, but then, no one wants to hire the man who would replace him. 1st-rate execs hire 1st-rate talent. 2nd-rate execs hire 3rd-rate talent, so as not to be threatened by them.
There was a time when the political Parties wanted to win, to govern. Now, they just want to keep their jobs, perks, and fancy titles. They want the status of the job, but not the work of it.
I doubt your assertion that the Dems know that they are doomed, this would require a level of awareness of their many shortcomings and understanding that the public knows just how bad their policies are, why they don’t work and whose fault that is. There is simply no evidence that the left possesses that level of awareness. The the fact that they are so oblivious to the reality around them in part explains why they are incapable of introspection.
As for Obama not running, one of the scenarios I’ve read involves high level democrats meeting quietly with him and attempting to convince him not to run for the good of the party. First he doesn’t care about the Democratic party’s future if he’s not in it and would refuse to step aside. Whether he could or couldn’t be convinced to not run, that meeting will never take place. When word leaked out about such a meeting no matter the outcome, the African American community would explode.
As for Obama not running, the only scenario I imagine is one where he, Jarrett, and Michelle conclude that self-immolation is better than defeat.
Some time next year (primary deadlines be damned) he declares that he now realizes America wasn’t ready for his ideas. He had too much faith in hope — er, hope in faith. Anyway. For the good of those who don’t deserve him, he is stepping aside so that his inferiors may rule his other inferiors.
In January 2013 he choppers off to Hollywood to soak up a little love, does the European capitals, gets someone to ghost-write another book, and wonders if Secretary-Generalship of the U.N. is as easy as it looks.
I agree. The Democrats seem to be just getting past “denial”, the first stage of grieving. It’s a long way from there to realistic acceptance of the way things are.
There’s a much bigger fly in that ointment: The outraged reaction from black voters that The First Black President ™ got aced out of his job. They will never buy the idea that the Dem Party had nothing to do with it.
The Dems have ZERO chance without the black vote.
There could even be violence at the Dem National Convention by angry blacks.
The Democrats can’t afford to anger their black base. They now realize that’s the trap involved in having a black President. You can’t be rid of him until he’s either defeated for re-election or serves two terms.
“The first black President”? Remember when that style was used of B. J. Clinton? If that usage is revived before year’s end, look to see ObamAA+ hypovehiculated.
And there’s a face-saving way of doing so. A few black “leaders” with street cred — Jackson, Sharpton, maybe even Wright — suddenly “realize” that ObamAA+ isn’t really black: his African half from the wrong side of the continent, raised by whitey, muscling in on the action — the affirmative action — on the basis of his complexion. It would even be true, for whatever worth that has when selling the revised narrative to the Democrat base.
Not true…the dem propaganda will sufficiently convince them that it was ultimately some kind of racist tinged republican set up.
“They anointed this narcissist, and they will be hoisted by that particular petard.”
Amen, Brother, amen. They will never get Barry away from the 4-way mirror. Never.
the bus heading her way is the one obiboy likes to throw people under . . .
This is a possible scenario. Obama is a lap dog of the party anyway, so he’ll do what he is told. A last minute abdication with Hillary filling the vacuum would be a base resurrection. It’s possible because in the democratic aka communist party, they are all willing to throw THEMSELVES under the bus just as fast as their friends, the useful idiots.
Obama IS the party – at least in his eyes.
Narcissists think like that.
The beautiful thing about this administration is they keep trotting out all their warm and fuzzy 19th century progressive dreams, only to watch them be mowed down by cold hearted 21st century reality.
In essence, we have another 16 months to go while we sit in the stands and the Democrats take their ’74 Pintos, AMC Pacers and Pontiac Aztecs to the Bad Idea Demolition Derby. If we are very lucky,(very, very, very lucky)they will run out of bad ideas before the election.
Are you sure that the DNC fundraising numbers include Obama’s birthday-party contributions? Because I’ve heard that they don’t.
Maybe soon USA will have a president who doesn’t spend vacations on a former FBI convict property.
The Zeroes have set a truly low standard at the WH.
Why would any human being with even a shred of morality read the NY Slimes, which shilled for Stalin & Mao, covered up the Shoah, and exposed secrets to the Islamists?
They are filthy, degenerate, subhuman, genocidal scum. I wouldn’t even insult a dog by using it for training purposes.
…..WOW!
….and thanks….that sums it up.
It’s worthwhile to read the NYT to know what the other side is thinking — even though it can be a very strange and disturbing place.
“Reagan did better with Jews than any other GOP presidential candidate — and he still got only 35% of the vote. 65-35 is still pretty lopsided, yes?”
If you’re referring to the 1980 election, Carter didn’t get 65%. He received only 45%, while Reagan got 39% and Anderson 14%. In 1984 the vote returned to a more traditional distribution: 67% Mondale, 31% Reagan. (Yes, in retrospect we should be ashamed of ourselves.) So, absent a viable 3rd party candidate, will Obama get closer to 67% or to 45%?
If Obama doesn’t veto Palestinian statehood next week, 45% is the upper bounds of the Jewish vote he’ll receive. And whatever money he might still have had access to will absolutely disappear.
A veto is unlikely. Remember, ultimately, it’s all about Him- according to Him.
The One and The Hill are pro-Palestinian, not because of Him being a “closet Muslim” (from all indications, all He worships is His reflection in a four-way mirror), but because it’s part of the “progressive” hard-left dogma; “Palestinians are the oppressed, Israel is the oppressor, and besides the Israelis had the nerve to snub the USSR, become a U.S. ally, and even give up on socialism! How dare they!”
(“Progressives”, of course, overlook little details like the Arab League attacking Israel five seconds after the British Mandate ended, the fact that Jews were oppressed in Russia long before anybody ever heard of Hitler in Germany, and that Israel’s turn toward capitalism and free markets was a result of nearly going bankrupt by doing it the “morally approved” socialist way.)
The One can’t veto the Palestinian statehood measure, because it wouldn’t win him any friends among those who don’t trust him, and would alienate what friends he does have on the far left. Voting for the measure would please his base, but would be seen as a confirmation of his visceral anti-Western bias by everybody else. I’m sure he, and she, would love to do it for purely doctrinal reasons, but they don’t quite dare to. Yet.
Therefore, the most likely outcome is an abstention. Their belief being that it won’t offend anyone who “really matters”- a category not including most Americans, in their minds. (No, a grasp of reality is not their strong suit.)
And of course, if there is one thing the record shows The One is good at, it’s voting… “Present”.

I thought he was doing a pretty pathetic schtick yesterday when I heard the “love me” bark. But he was: s.e.r.i.o.u.s. He’s looking more and more frenetic, skinnier than usual, graying fast, and his face is reflecting more and more the self he can no longer disguise. Wonder what room in the vast interior of the White House now houses his portrait kept hidden for what it might reveal. Everyday the lies are more unhinged, the voice less assured, the gestures more desperate. It’s almost painful to look at. Almost. Because there is a small part of this American who believes this SOB is getting just what he deserves. Hope this is just the beginning.
I’m just wondering how we go about removing a president who is manifesting florid signs of insanity.
See Constitution Amendment #25, Section 4. Ain’t gonna happen, though.
You went with the AttackWatch Gestapo motif, so this is fair game:
http://ironicsurrealism.com/2011/09/15/hitler-discovers-attack-watch-has-become-the-joke-of-the-internet/
As a non-Jew and devout supporter of Israel, I can’t for the life of me understand why American Jews are so devoted to a party that is staunch anti-Israel. The fact that Carter ONLY got 45% of the Jewish vote totally boggles the mind. Carter is the biggest anti-Israel American since Israel was created. He makes Adam Gadhan look Pro Israel.
Israel and America are successful because of hard work and self sufficiency. Every thing Democrats abhor. And something that Jewish people have always been known for. Why do they support Democrats?
Historically, Jews have been staunch left-wingers. They were active in both socialist labor (the Workmen’s Circle) and even Communist Party activities.
Look at all the famous leftists who were Jews: Saul Alinsky, Harold Laski, Abbie Hoffman, Howard Zinn, Susan Sontag.
Jewish women were a main part of radical feminism too: Andrea Dworkin, Betty Friedan, etc.
Israel itself was originally founded as a democratic socialist country, with its system of communal farms (kibbutzim).
Jews convinced themselves that there was a congruence between socialism and Judaism.
Plus Jews have always been highly suspicious of devout Christians in power over them. Such arrangements haven’t always worked well (cf. Spanish Inquisition). And they are suspicious of the GOP for enabling evangelical Christians to be so powerful in that party. The Holocaust turned off Jews to right-wing governments too. (It shouldn’t have; Franco’s Spain never bought into Hitler’s anti-Semitism.)
Wikipedia has a good article on this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_left
Now prior to the late 1960s, one could be left-wing and still be a staunch supporter of Israel. Most mainstream American liberals were that way.
But the New Left movement was different. These radicals were infatuated with all things Third World, from Buddhism to African nationalism to the Viet Cong. And eventually, they fell in love with the Palestinians too.
Jews are highly educated. They also love to argue. “Put 3 Jews in a room, and you’ll get 5 strong opinions.” So, they entertain such ridiculous notions as the Left puts forward. Intellectualism. Bereft of morality.
They also have a rich history of turning their faces from God. They do it regularly. They suffer for it. They toe the line awhile, then turn away again. Rinse, lather, repeat. They are the descendants of Adam and Eve. The Chosen People always turn against God and against their fellow Jews. Always. Some few keep the faith, but most are just… Judases.
Only my Christian faith allows me to not revile them. I stand with them, because God says to, not because they deserve it. Revelations says they will stand alone and suffer through Hell on Earth. Throughout history, they have drawn the ire of the whole world. That hasn’t changed. God and the Devil both make great use of these God-blessed, useful idiots.
Marc its great having an a**hole like you standing with us and for all the right reasons. I have never seen so much anti-Semitic tripe come from anyone who isn’t labeled a Nazi. Your judgement of us is the same we’ve endured 2000 years. Please take your cheesy crap and shove it. Do us a favor, don’t support us. I’d hate like hell having a “friend” like you covering my back.
Best explanation I ever saw is this one, short and sweet:
The Jews Aren’t Going Anywhere
http://prospect.org/csnc/blogs/tapped_archive?month=06&year=2011&base_name=the_jews_arent_going_anywhere
Essentially, it’s cultural. All that Republican corn-fed, heartland-values, true-blue American stuff is exclusionary to Jews. It’s code for “Book-learned, spectacle-wearin’, funny-nosed, accent-havin’, weird-food-eatin’ outsiders need not apply.”
arhooley,
There is now another description of some American Jews. That includes,”no bullsh*t, sh*t stompin”. I would love to me you just so that I can introduce you to this other type. FO you AH.
Please excuse the typo. It should read “I would love to meet you…..”
I don’t know if its the Scotch or just being dead a** tired.
arhooley, I’d still love to kick your a**.
Sorry about your feelings, Andy. I don’t make the news, I just report it.
The same is true for me. I don’t make a**holes, I just report on who they are.
How bad? Not bad enough.
To walt c.: As indicated by NY 9, fewer and fewer Jews now support Democrats. Israel will send out its diplomats to vouch for the Administration since Obama is,after all, still the US President. However American Jews, and Americans in general, have watched Obama aid and abet the emergence of nuclear Iran as well as what is ironically called the arab spring. The current political/economic situation which threatens the world was created by Obama’s combination of arrogance, ignorance, and stupidity.
“Makes you wonder if there’s a bus headed Debbie’s way.”
I’ll pay good hard cash to watch that show.
Maybe they could talk the resident into stepping down if they promised him Mr. Peanut’s job with Habitat for Humanity. He could live out the rest of his life trying to organize and unionize the workers.

Bill Owens, former Governor of CO was a truly effective Governor, but I do not know enough about his politics.
With all due respect, having dealt with him before and during his governorship; on a good day, with a downhill run, and a blazing tailwind … he is a lying RINO sack of donkey-scat. In the years leading up to his run for governor; anytime you got 3 Republicans in a room, Owens was there claiming support for lower taxes, spending limitations, concealed carry and 2nd Amendment rights, pro-business, and defending the areas outside Metro Denver from being walked all over by Denver. Also, pro-law enforcement. That point was especially pertinent to me, because at the time I was a Peace Officer for the state [retired now].
I was a delegate to the convention that nominated him. There, before the vote, I talked to him one on one. On a specific point of state policy, he blatantly lied to me, to my face, to get my support. I later found after the election that he had told the same lie to someone who was and is respected by my entire Department.
On gun control; when the Left was trying to ban all firearms after the Columbine massacre, this same Governor told the Denver Post that he would sign ANY gun control legislation the legislature sent him. When the interviewer pointed out that it would anger his base, his answer [in print] was, “What are they going to do, vote for a Democrat?”. Somewhere in my files, I have that interview. We do have concealed carry here in Colorado, however once in office he opposed it and only signed it after it was plain that if he did not it would be put in by an initiative or passed over his veto.
We technically still have a Taxpayers Bill of Rights [TABOR] that limits increases in taxes, increases in spending, and requires voter approval of both at all levels. But it is “suspended” due in no small part to the efforts of Bill Owens. We have had taxes and fees soar since then. Throughout his term, he attacked and insulted the conservative leadership in the Legislature [back in the days when we held both houses]. And he fought for illegal aliens whenever attempts were made to give them in-state tuition status in our colleges.
And as far as supporting law enforcement, we had a pair of psycho wastes of protoplasm ambush and kill one local cop, and paralyse another. Our DA got a sudden case of religion, and decided that he did not believe in the death penalty anymore. Owens publicly sided with the DA.

Another factor for the “high level democrats”. If they fail to convince Obama to step down, as far as he will be concerned they will have committed high treason. There will be retaliation. It will not necessarily be restricted to politics or money, and it will likely involve their families. Keep in mind that he has his own self-declared “army”, and the high level democrats know that the law means nothing.

The other problem for the President is timing: Campaigning after Labor Day makes sense —- in an even numbered year. Is he really going to be able to keep up the fever pitch campaign rhetoric for 14 months? Next September will anybody still be listening to him? But if he withdraws, is he really willing to see Hillary get the nomination?
….Please, not Hillary!
So far, no one has mentioned the third way-the 1 has a heart attack, or???
the more likely, but must be covered-up as heaven forbid we peons find out, a nervous breakdown requring a straight jacket and serious sedatives.
Exactly what I was thinking. Obama will never step down voluntarily and some of these lefties (thinking about Ayers) play for keeps. If it looks like Obama is going to get stomped in the election, they may think martyr is the way to go. I know it’s a dark theory, but you get all the Cloward Piven stuff in the bargain.
Biden would be President and he’s easily run. You would get a hatred against whites like you’ve never seen before in this country. You could “delay” the election until the “emergency” is over. Frankly, it scares me to death.
Would the Media get their cat-fight after all? Instead of Sarah and Michele they might get Sarah and Hillary.
@#17: “So far, no one has mentioned the third way-the 1 has a heart attack, or???”
So, why did you mention it? Are you trying to create a “situation” that can be ratted out to AttackWatch?
FAIL.

The man-child in the WH will seek re-election. Look for the worst, most vial smear campaign ever in presidential politics. Rick Perry is the only one with a chance to stand up against the media and the DNC hate machine.
No one has mentioned that he might stay and pull a very dirty trick (not directly of course) – get a 3rd party candidate to run that will pull Republican votes. This is most likely to happen if the Republicans nominate a strong conservative, like Perry. The dems encourage (under the table of course) a Rino to run – to siphon off the independent votes. If they nominate someone like Romney, then it’s less likely, since they wouldn’t have the leverage with a true conservative. Of course, the Tea Party might do that for them.
Say! Mr. Green;
It’s “Barrack”; Not “Barack”.
You don’t want us watching the wrong one, do you?
Obama deserves some credit.
Can any of us know how hard it is to work both sides of a seesaw while posing and telepromptering?
I am saddened when I see supporters of Isreal and Jews fighting. I do not believe the ultar-conservative religious view of why someone should support Isreal-but at least they do. (I understand that the reasons are an insult to Jews and are border line anti semetic. However, I am a student of history (ancient mideast and ant-bellum southern history). Everyone that lives in the mideast are cousins of the Jews-all semetic. I want to read hebrew and greek and the Torah. But the bottom line is that the British and the French created Isreal, the Zionist created the civilization while the arabs and the boudins did not care. Until the sand-n***ers were agitated by the Arab nationalist and facists did the creation of Isreal pose a problem. Not one Arab/Muslim state did anything to help the Palistinian (Jordegptians) except provide putrid refugee camps. Obama has been screwing the Isrealis since he got into office! (By the way I was raised a Baptist and now am undenominational).

Lavish Trips/Vacations etc under the guise of a “Presidential event”? Paid for by none other than the US! – The Tax Payer? Which inevitably lead to his never ending narcissistic “campaigning”? We need to vote
