Chris Christie’s office seems to have put out this town hall video as-is. Short on content, long on a big, big theme. It’s only about a minute long, so watch it…
…and tell me if you don’t think that’s one big toe in the water of a presidential campaign.

i don’t think it is a toe in the water for 2012. i think it is christie being christie. one of the biggest things, perhaps THE biggest, people like about christie is his straight shooting. if he runs in 2012 after his very clear statements that he isn’t, he loses that. 2016 or 2020 is a whole different story.
i have, however, made a career out of being wrong.
I agree. I think Christie wants very much to have completed a successful first term he can point to before he tries to aim higher, and for that to happen certain things need to happen outside the reach of his own office.
So if he’s hammering themes it may simply be because he knows what he wants the presidential candidates to be talking about, and he hopes he can have some influence over that. I could be wrong, but I could also be right.
Governor Christie is too willing to violate the inalienable rights of American citizens: his record on the Second Amendment is awful. He may be financially sensible, but I am not comfortable with a President hostile to the people’s right to keep and bear arms. Instead I propose that once he has righted the financial ship of New Jersey, he be appointed to head the NLRB. Can you imagine the sheer quantity of head explosions among the leftists? I am assuming that the NLRB has jurisdiction over government-employee unions as well – if I’m not, someone please correct me.
I’d like to see him head of the NLRB, too — for about three months. That should be enough to get the assets auctioned off and the office spaces sub-let.
I would never vote for Christie for Prez. I like the guy. He is good fit for NJ, as a Republican, but he IS a RINO.
Um, I don’t particularly WANT republicans to be getting along with democrats unless they are happily slashing the size of government.
