As we watch the Higher Education Bubble burst, I have an idea the GOP could use to win back all those professional college graduates, while hurting the leftwing universities where it hurts the most.
The VodkaPundit Plan™ has two parts:
1. Immediate forgiveness of the unpaid interest on student loans.
2. Universities are on the hook to make good on the unpaid principle of student loans — but only for whatever amount tuition has increased since, say, 1980, over and above the rate of inflation. I’m sure some smart, heavily indebted Ivy League MBA can come up with the right formula.
Do we have a winner?

Commercial paper may not be such a bad thing though. Once print and spend has run its course, it’ll be better than having stocks. Stock prices are based on profits that aren’t sustainable.
I will probably move everything in my TSP to the international fund soon, and not bother with any of it.
Oops, wrong post.
Nice. But the “cures” to the housing bubble and medical care bubble always have some scary alternative, like turning poor families out on the street, or letting Grandma die. What crime against humanity will ensue without the VodkaPundit Plan™ for free college education? I know! Lefties will get stupid.
And aaron — are you in the right thread?
You evil, evil man.
I LIKE this idea. ^.^
“Universities are on the hook to make good on the unpaid principle of student loans”
Either there’s a typo in there (that doesn’t trip the spell-check, being a legit word in its own right), or this post is way too deep for me to fully appreciate…
Cheers, all
