Breaking: An unknown number of additional Marines, aka “State Department troops,” are on their way to US Embassy in Cairo.
Getting nervous about Muslim Brotherhood jumping off the sidelines?
Leathernecks are always a VERY welcome sight and THESE troops are battle tested veterans nowadays. It’ll feel like the adults are finally in control for those poor folks.
One of the most memorable rescues of a noted sceptic was hauling Tony Bourdain and his crew out of Lebanon when that exploded. To his credit, he couldn’t say enough about my Marines and the magnificent job they did. Brings tears to my eyes even now thinking about it.
