Remarkable Recovery

She took a bullet through the brain not two weeks ago, but look at this:
Rep. Gabrielle Giffords will be transferred to TIRR Memorial Hermann later this week as she continues her recovery from a Jan. 8 shooting in Tucson, Ariz., a source confirmed to the Chronicle today.
TIRR, The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research, is one of the nation’s premiere rehabilitation centers. Among its specialties are traumatic brain injury.
The source told the Chronicle that the plans to transfer Giffords were evolving quickly this morning.
You don’t have to agree with Gabby Giffords’ politics to agree that is one hell-a woman.
Not to mention some fantastic health care. (ObamaCare hasn’t gone into effect yet, right?)
It is amazing and I wish her the best. I heard on the news this morning that the doctors had out of bed and standing up.
Bless her. I hope things continue to go well for her.
My sweetie said the other night that, if she recovers enough to return to the floor, the House Sergeant at Arms should announce her return just as he does the president:
“Ladies and Gentlemen, Representative Gabrielle Giffords!”
(Personally, if I were her, I’d be tempted to stroll up to Loughner and say: “You gotta nuke me from the air. It’s the only way to be sure!”)

Rep. Giffords improvement is good news….But I must ask: When will the drive-by media show the same level of excitement in exclaiming the good news of U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Patrick Zeigler improvements from more than a half dozen surgeries after a known terrorist shot him in the head during the Ft Hood massacre? His attacker was known Muslim terrorist so the PC crowd probably won’t, but you should know of his remarkable journey since that fateful day.
