You Broke My Heart

GOP presidential hopeful Tim Pawlenty preemptively caves in to false lefty narrative:
Former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty this morning added to the political debate about the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords by taking exception to Sarah Palin’s use of cross hairs on a 2010 election map.
That gives us some clue as to how he’d behave as President, yes? I’m tempted to scratch him off my 2012 short list.

Pawlenty is positioning himself above the fray. Unfortunately we need someone who is the fray.
Scratch him. He failed to challenge smears against Palin during an interview in ’08. I scratched him then.
Hey, he’s from MN. What else did you expect?
Actually, the marks on Sarah Palin’s campaign map are not cross hairs but symbols commonly found on most maps.
For a man releasing a book titled “The Courage to Stand”, one is tempted to ask if that refers to “in a corner trembling at the first raised voice”. Grow a pair, son, explain yourself better or don’t run.
And the whole “marks weren’t this or that” is a canard. Palin clearly MEANT them as crosshairs and BFD. Quit quibbling.
This does strike as the kind of thing that ticked me off about McCain, but he’s been so solid in other areas if this was the only blunder he makes I wouldn’t write him off completely.
Still I’d much prefer someone with gravitas fly down to New Jersey and tell Chris Christie his country needs him.
Failing that I wish Jindal would run.
Oh, amen to that. When one steps back and takes a sweeping looks at the GOP presidential horizon…ewww. Not much out there. Jindal talks so damn fast, no one would know what he said in the first paragraph alone and the speech’d be finished!
I will never forgive Fred Thompson.
NEVER.
be very wary of mr pawlenty
I’m a firm believer in letting people learn from their mistakes, and forgiving them if they do. But let there me no doubt about it, this was a mistake. Will he learn from it? Time will tell.
