San Francisco’s city government is tackling the tough decisions by… considering a ban on pet sales?

Heh. One of our state senators back in the 90′s put the bumper sticker “If you outlaw turtles, only outlaws will have turtles” on his car. (Referring to a legislative attempt to outlaw the sale of green turtles of less than 4 inches in length as pets for sanitary reasons.)
San Francisco is not merely a different country, it’s a different universe.
Since California is working on outlawing all soft drinks (including sports drinks) in vending machines, I’m not surprised.
…It just occurred to me that San Francisco should have no problem at all finding homes for those poor little hamsters…
Lemmiwinks’ Law!
I particularly liked the part if the article that mentioned they were considering allowing the sale of “feed” rodents. So a mouse that you want so that little Sally can keep in a cage is bad. A mouse that you want so little Sally can feed her Boa Constrictor, not so much. Too bad the mouse doesn’t get a say in all this.
Be careful euthanizing the turtles.

Yep, sometimes they fight back.
