Boy, if I was half as smart as Charles I wouldn’t have to read all these blogs.
To paraphrase a famous dumocrat: “It’s about the law, stupid!”
Krauthammer brings up a key point, if they could challenge the law in court on Constitutional grounds, surely they would have by now. That they haven’t is a sign the case looks shaky.
At some point, should Republicans ever regain Congress, the question of impeachment must be raised if Obama continues on this course. It surely is is a violation of the Constitution and his Oath of Office for him to selectively decide which laws to enforce and which to conveniently ignore.
beerstine, my friend, you miss the point. You forgot Barry’s main theme: “I won.” And for a Chicago pol, “I won” means he gets to call the shots. Period. If you haven’t noticed by now, the rule of law and the Constitution don’t have much sway in Illinois these days. In fact Mayor Daley recently made a crack that very nearly was “It would be a shame if something happened to one of the Supreme Court justices” while they were adjudicating Chicago’s repressive gun laws.
I’m beginning to wonder if all the charges of egotism & narcissism leveled against Obama might have some factual basis. All he ever seems to do is lecture anyone who dares defy him as to why they should just shut up and accede to his will.
