The Health Care Summit is taking a recess, but the news rolls on. Here’s Politico, reporting on what happens next:
After a brief period of consultation following the White House health reform summit, congressional Democrats plan to begin making the case next week for a massive, Democrats-only health care plan, party strategists told POLITICO.
A Democratic official said the six-hour summit was expected to “give a face to gridlock, in the form of House and Senate Republicans.”
This bill is supported by a mere 25% of Americans. Making the Republicans the face of gridlock is the dumbest possible move out of dozens of possible dumb moves.
UPDATE: For a deeper — funnier — look at how insane the Democrats in general and Obama in particular have become, watch Wednesday’s Trifecta on PJTV.

What the “summit” has done is tear away the cheap Hollywood set dressing that made up the content of this bill. Its much like the scene in Blazing Saddles where Slim Pickens declares:
“Hey, This Town is Fake!”.
Well yeah it is fake, and what they wanted to do was vote on it before you got too close to see that it was fake. Thats not possible any more, thanks to this “summit”.
(Nice strategy you got there General!)
This summit was supposed to bolster the position of the Dems and the President, but all it has done is give voice to the opposition to the plan. That opposition is bringing business ( or dare I say “kitchen”) logic. What the dems are bringing is squishy emotion and they look like Sally Strothers selling me another orphan when they do it.
Well, how much time do you think you have wasted so far? This is worse than watching paint dry. At least with paint you have an idea what it will look like.
Don’t the Democrats still have a majority in both halves of Congress?
They hate gridlock, well, bring it up for a vote. Force a filibuster.
Show us you’re serious, Senate Democrats.
That would be hilarious. There’s nothing funnier than watching a bunch of fundamentally unserious people try to convince everyone else they’re serious.
If they want to televise it, there’s even a time slot already picked out for them, currently occupied by “The View.” No one would notice the change — not even people who watch it.
Isn’t this great!? Unemployment claims filed last week rose unexpectedly to 496,000, and the Democrats are going all in with health care reform. You can’t fix stupid.
