I’m in the DC area, and if tomorrow’s forecast snow takes place, we will have had as much as about 6 feet of snow since mid-December in areas in and around the city. I’m northeast closer to Annapolis, where I spent all Sunday shoveling 3 feet of snow off my deck. I grew up in Northern Virginia, about 8 miles from that Kennedy compound on Chain Bridge Road and I’m probably around the same age as RFK Jr. (I was almost 7 when RFK was shot). I remember heavy winters and light winters, just like there were colder springs than others, chilly falls and warmer falls. And I like the bit about the eskimos who came to his house and built igloos. Gee, I wonder if some Indians ever came and built teepees in his yard, and some Frenchmen came by with pastries, and maybe the Japanese Ambassador gave little Bobby some karate lessons. The man is an ass.
I remember when we moved from Miami to North Jersey ~ circa 1961. That winter we totaled 151 inches of snow and set records for consecutive zero or below days. I was five and the snow drifts bolstered by perpetual plowing were three or four times my height.
I don’t think they’ve come close to it since, but the reaction is more “thank God” than “damn our carbon footprint”.
The man is an ass.
I’m a California native and I don’t know what the hell you people are talking about.
Here I am on January 12:
