Apparently, we have a President embarrassed by victory.
No wonder he keeps losing.
This is eevul, but I love it when he loses. My BFF and I sit around dreaming up demise scenarios and snickering like mad.
And OO-rah for those Marines.
God forbid anyone gets the idea our Soldiers and Marines succeeded.
And why in the name of everything sane did they send fracking Joe Biden over there to talk about the upcoming election bans!?
Could it be that they’re hoping “crazy uncle” Joe blathers so much the Iraqis will agree just to shut him up? (“Better get with the program, or we’re sending Hillary next!”)
…Naaahhh. They’re not that bright.
No. The US has had a success, and Dear Liar does not want the US to succeed. Thus He sends Joe Biden over in the hope that Biden makes a hugely embarrassing gaffe, negating the Marines’ success.
No, we have a President who is an embarrassment.
Are you planning on drunkblogging the SOTU this year?
Planning to? I’m contractually obligated to.
But seriously… I am serious.
as much as i despise biden and B.O., i assumed biden was there because his son is (was?).
Biden is there on the pretense that the President should not be the comedy relief.
It isn’t working.
I’m a conservative, retired military, and damned sick of what is going on in our politics. But this event may be less than you’d like it to be…
I’m pretty sure you need to ask this question-
To whom did the Marines hand the guidon?
The U.S. Army.
The Marines are needed in Afghanistan.
I bought 1.75 L of Skyy just for the SOTU speech.
Greybeard; good question, but isn’t reducing our force structure also an indication of success (if not immediate victory)?
I would say that the Marines are going to the ‘stan because they aren’t needed in Iraq anymore, as opposed to a perceived greater need for them in another theatre.
While I wouldn’t yet use the word “victory” (Iraq has a way to go), certainly things are much, much better than predicted by certain, ahhh pessimistic individuals.
