It’s a very modern lawsuit for our very modern age:

Former employees of the beleaguered community activist group ACORN are planning to file a criiminal complaint in Baltimore against the creators of the series of videos that have spurred outrage against the organization, knowledgable sources have told Investigative Voice.

The filing could come as soon as Friday afternoon, sources said.

The criminal complaint will allege that recordings of the group’s employees giving advice on how to evade taxes and house underage South American sex workers to journalists posing as a pimp and prostitute were obtained illegally.

You’d think there’d be a whistle-blower law to protect these folks, but apparently those don’t cover the kind of blowing ACORN was willing to sell,

  1. Discovery?
I doubt much will come of this. Surely the D.A. can read the political wind, even in Maryland.

“Surely the D.A. can read the political wind, even in Maryland.”

Not necessarily. There’s a 50/50 chance that the young journalists will be prosecuted. Many blue state Democrats just don’t give a damn. These elected and appointed officials are in very safe gerrymandered Democratic Party dominated areas—where they are essentially untouchable. Their number one goal is to keep the radical, non-violent left happy.

So what’s the basis of the complaint: “it’s illegal to out us as tax cheating, child prostitute enabling scumbags?”

    Seriously! WTF?

    A few thoughts…

-Well, If not sell then at least subsidize.

-I’ve never studied whole “singularity” theory but it appears to me that Mr Andrew Breitbart is on the verge of initiating one. It really does appear that his efforts at conservative leaning web based reporting/broadcasting/fact checking is on the verge of something very large and game changing. I hope he keeps his efforts “in house” instead of throwing in with a larger entity.

-I can’t imagine that the lawsuit would survice discovery. Brietbart is on record as saying that he’s looking forward to it. I mean really, the ACORN folks should really see how outmatched they are.

-I’ll happily contribute a fe buck to their legal fund.

These elected and appointed officials are in very safe gerrymandered Democratic Party dominated areas —- where they are essentially untouchable.

Generally speaking, elected prosecutors aren’t elected by the kind of district that is apportioned for population. They’re elected by county, or by a statutorily or constitutionally defined group of counties.

Now, a prosecutor elected from a county so blue as to be ultra-violet, the effect is the same as gerrymandering, but the word itself never properly applies because that kind of map-changing tends to be so rare as to be epochal.

  8. That’s for the illumination, everyone. Still…
Have you seen how O’Reilly latches on to these Judges that go easy on pedophiles?
How do you think he’ll react if Maryland goes after these two kids that have provided disinfectant there? Do you think ANY elected/impeachable official wants to go beneath that microscope?
I still think ACORN will realize it’s to their advantage not to expose themselves this way. They may get help reaching that decision by the very folks that would have to try the case.
    Disagree?

I wouldnt count on BO for anything. To me he has become irrelevant. I think his show has become boring and he seems to be an appeaser. His tone changed significantly after the Obama interview. It almost seemed like he either fell under the One’s spell or agreed to go soft in exchange for the interview. I think he has peaked.

Going way back to the Clinton daze, remember when the President lied to a grand jury, along with the rest of the country, and the end result was an indictment for Linda Tripp?
Don’t be surprised if Breitbart and the videographers draw long sentences. It will be necessary to make an example of them.
