The Muzak President

September 10, 2009 - 8:13 pm - by Stephen Green

Enough. Enough already. Enough enough enough:

U.S. President Barack Obama will give a speech about the financial crisis on Monday, marking the anniversary of the collapse of Lehman Brothers, the White House said.

This, according to Drudge, follows a big appearance on 60 Minutes on Sunday evening.

If I may paraphrase the immortal Ren Hoek, “Why won’t he leave me… alone?”

UPDATE: Apparently I’m not the only one getting tired of the 24/7/365 Obama Show.

  1. Aww, c’mon, give the guy a break. He’s been practicing his stern, presidential look and barely concealed contempt in front of the mirror for weeks now. Don’t take this moment away from the poor little fellow.

  2. It’s like the old joke about the talking dog – “it’s not the talking,it’s the getting him to shut the he’ll up that’s the real trick”

  3. Every damned day. Another sharp stick in the eye.

So he talked to us about health care on September 9th and he’s going to be on 60 Minutes September 12 for something and then a speech about financial issues on Monday, September 13th ….

Did nothing of importance happen on September 11th that he could address the American people about?

The speech he apparently isn’t going to deliver is the most instructive about his agenda.

Turns out that I am also a bit of a jerk.

President Obama will be speaking during the Pentagon’s services today.

It’s like the old joke about the talking dog – “it’s not the talking,it’s the getting him to shut the he’ll up that’s the real trick”

It’s also like another talking dog joke where the owner is selling it because the “dog tells nothing but lies.”

Seems like pretty much every talking dog joke is a metaphor for Obama speeches.

6 No you’re not a jerk. Interesting that Dear Leader could go up to the city for Date Night and send Air Force One up there for photos, yet is unable to go up there himself on a Day of Remembrance.

I guess The One didn’t want to have to sit there listening to all those names.

Am I the only one who suspects that if he was offered an anchor spot on Mi>Evening News he’d quit his day job?

Now, that would leave us with Biden, which might not be an improvement…

Well, I’m of the opinion it wouldn’t make things any worse. Everybody knows Biden’s a nincompoop. Sometimes the “soft bigotry of lowered expectations” is a mercy.
