Are You Threatening Me?

President Obama on health care:
President Barack Obama warned Thursday that if Congress doesn’t deliver health care legislation by the end of the year, the opportunity will be lost, a plea to political supporters to pressure lawmakers to act. “If we don’t get it done this year, we’re not going to get it done,” Obama told supporters by phone as he flew home on Air Force One from a West Coast fundraising trip.
Politics of fear, anyone?

Sounds more like a CYA and laying the groundwork to blame Congressional Republicans when health care legislation doesn’t pass. That way they have it as an issue in 2010.
Promise?
‘twould be nice if we only had to stave it off that long…
What happens at midnight on Dec 31, 2009? Seems to me the date he should be worrying about comes early in November 2010.
Actually, it’s one of the more hopeful things I’ve heard this week. Manage to hold it off this year, and it’s dead? Works for me.
I’m with Charlie. This is GREAT. It tells me that upgrading our healthcare system to the lofty heights of GB’s National Health might not happen. Oh, joy!

Yes, we can only hope.
He said “hope;” heh-heh-heh…
And I really would like to see Barry & Company try to pin such a failure on the GOP, since it’s a minority party. Listening to them wrap themselves in verbal knots explaining how they couldn’t get the legislation passed with an automatic majority should be nearly as funny as Pelosi’s recent gymnastics.
Agreed – if true it would be the best news that I have heard of in a long (100+ days) time.
Even the most rabid Democratic, teachers’ union, BDS suffering. Obama supporter that I know has already started questioning if Obama has a clue about what he is doing.
My only hope at this time – and it is a REAL long-shot – is that individual Congress members and Senators are going to realize that the midterms in 2010 are going to be a bloodbath if they continue to follow the Administration and that they begin to actually start to offer a rational alternative to the nation.
