I have seen the future of the automobile — and it sucks.
The only feasible way to implement that lunacy is with “ringer” cars that get a zillion mpg from sub-1L engines, which of course, nobody wants, and nobody will buy, in order to cover for the cars that are below the limit.
The downside, of course, is that doing so will be ludicrously expensive, said ludicrousity to be passed on to dear customer.
So not only has Dear Leader killed off anything remotely resembling an automotive industry, he’s also effectively “taxed” everyone buying a car. Again.
Is it 2010 yet?
