This is Going to Hurt
April 29th, 2009 - 12:03 pm
After 100 days in office, President Obama is finally holding a primetime press conference. I kid, of course — this will be his 103rd.
But it’s no joke that I’ll be drunkblogging it, starting sometime before 8PM Eastern.

Damn, I don’t think my college Eng. lit. professor lectured this much in a semester. Is there a test coming?
This is the best AP Headline I’ve seen in..well…a long time: President Obama to spend 100th day in spotlight” NO! Really, where else would he be
Seeing as how nothing of interest will actually be said at this “press conference”, I’m simply watching “Lie to Me” out of spite.
However I do look forward to reading your review.
Has Martini Boy gone to straight double fisted drinking and not making any comments at all?
Burt, I know I would.
If Obama truly believes torture is unacceptable under any circumstances then he really needs to stop with these incessant public appearances. He’s already worn out his welcome on my television set, I just can’t take his smug, lying arrogance anymore.
I am a regular reader, but never before a poster. I read your drunkblog…excellent as usual. However, in the 5:12 entry, please ensure you reverse the hygiene actions in practice, or the GinC (Grandmother in Chief) will rip you a new one!
Oh, to someday have a job where martinis are considered a legitimate business expense…
Since when is confessing (what you view as) someone else’s “sins” courageous?
When President Obama says “During my years in the Senate, I took too much time away to run for president and failed to do my duty as a Senator. I should have spoken up forcefully and publicly against this practice of torture. I should not have rested until I got legislation passed outlawing this practice. I failed to perform my Constitutional role (as part of the legislative branch) to act as a “check and balance” on the actions – actions I disagreed with – of the Administration.” – then I will be impressed.
For now, it just comes across as another example of his doing anything and saying anything to get momentary gain.
