Breaking

January 29, 2009 - 3:30 pm - by Stephen Green

From Twitter:

BreakingNewsOn The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) did not immediately report as to why North Korea is ceasing all agreements with the South.

Can’t find a real story anywhere, but it appears Krazy Kim is back in charge and up to his usual antics.

UPDATE: Here’s the story:

North Korea said Friday it is scrapping all political and military agreements with South Korea, including one on their sea border.

The statement from the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea, a body handling cross-border relations, accused the Seoul government of pushing relations “to the brink of a war.”

The statement follows months of strained relations. Earlier in January South Korea’s military ordered a border alert after the North’s army threatened an “all-out confrontational posture” against Seoul.

As Charlie Martin commented on Twitter, “Expect them to shoot up a couple of ROK gunboats then grumpily agreeing to talk.”

    GIRD YOUR LOINS!

It’s the middle of winter and Noko’s are no doubt starving and freezing.

I’d wager this is just another temper tantrum staged in an attempt to extract some food and oil from the West.

It fits the pattern set over the last 5-10 years. And it usually works.

  3. Jay –

Ed Driscoll and I talked about it this afternoon for Saturday’s PJM Political radio show — and that’s exactly the line I took. Th DPRK has run out of something important, and using their usual means to wring it out of us.

Also, Dear Leader is reportedly back in the saddle, and might feel the need to put his own special stamp of crazy on the government again.

“Also, Dear Leader is reportedly back in the saddle, and might feel the need to put his own special stamp of crazy on the government again.”

    Whoa.

For a second there, I thought you stuck that comment in the wrong post, and were actually intending to pontificate on the events in Illinois.

    Or Washington….

Funny how fungible that statement is when you’re talking about the Left side of the political spectrum.

  6. Hmm. Is it the statement that is fungible, or the target? I’m too tired to figure that one out right now. You get my point, even though Teh Funny may have been lost….

    Nukem,

IMO, in this case, it’s most definitely the politicians who are fungible.

It’s hard to bring on Teh Funny with crap like this.

“Fungible” has the word “fun” in it. Can’t argue with that! And “gible”. Funny too!

Now, what these people are doing to us is not funny….

But it’s surely a good thing for us to keep looking for the brighter and lighter side.

I think in this case the root of the word “fungible” is “fungi.” Though, that’s more like how these politicians like to treat the taxpayers: keep ‘em in the dark and feed them bullsh!t.

  9. I was really referring (in a less than clear way) to whether or not I was modifying the right word with “fungible”.

But I appreciate your takes on it much more.

That didn’t take long. Only 11 days into “The Wonderful World of Obama” and Kim decides to play Truth or Dare. Add Ajaba-whazizface into the mix and, I hate to say it, but it looks like Biden was right about the “gird your loins” bit.
