I’m sure we’ll hear all sorts of explanations for this: the sidelines are reserved for celebrities, security restrictions, blah blah blah. I’m sure there’s a logical explanation for this wrong decision, but there’s plenty of reasons to let them stay. Hell, I say if an honor guard can’t watch the game, then the NFL shouldn’t get their services.
Each team should invite the honor guard over to the sidelines. They should all get Pat Tillman jerseys and other stuff, get to chat with players during the long timeouts, and enjoy the experience of the Super Bowl. There’s got to be a place where they can stash their guns, and plenty of volunteers to hold the flags (not unfurled, of course, since there are cameras needing to watch the game. Oh what the hell, wave em if they like.)
This is more stupid than the year the NFL didn’t want Arizona to have a Super Bowl unless there was an MLKjr holiday while the NFL itself didn’t take that day off at the time (true fact.) It’s mind-numbingly stupid that the league would wrap itself up in the flag but not expect anyone to notice it took a smelly dump within. Jackasses.
Maybe we should get a “boycott the Superbowl” thing going.
You can call the NFL at 212-450-2000 and let them know what you think. I just did.
I found this place on the NFL site where you can e-mail them comments.

Maybe it’ll do some good.

I put the NFL right next to the MSM. Undermining America.
