Photoblogging
Some days, it’s really good to be a blogger. In the last few minutes, Chris Huckenpoehler and Patrick Rockefeller both emailed pictures to me of today’s protest at the Danish Embassy.
Here are a few from Patrick -
Yes, that’s Christopher Hitchens.
Sully was there, too.
And Cliff May and Bill Kristol.
Cliff and Patrick each had shots showing just how odd (and I mean that in a good way!) the Danes can be -

Heh.
Finally, my personal favorite -
Yep, a protest sign made from Lego. Ya gotta love the Danes.
UPDATE: Eddy has more pics at Crossing Wall Street.
And even more from Fuck France.
UPDATE: Finally, a protest babe.
Chris writes:
Just back from the pro-Denmark rally in DC; always worth it, even if it costs a day off.
Crisp, Sunny – Beautiful dayMy take? Not bad for a good protest, from my experience in DC (insert raised fist here…) Plus, Hitchens, Kristol & Blankley showed.
Three significant differences between our protests and their riots, that I thought of on the drive home:
- Nothing was burned, no one was killed, and the security was only 3 (Three!) of DC

I want a bumpersticker that says “Havarti-Eating Free Speech Monkey.”
Though somehow I doubt many Islamofascists will get the reference.
The “Submit to Havarti” sign is genius, pure genius.
DANISH EMBASSY RALLY
Updates and some good photos over at Stephen Green’s and Vital Perspective (via Glenn Reynolds)….
Did you see all the mosques that where burned and moslims killed?
Oh wait, we aren’t like them. Never mind.
Time to Stand with the Danes
There was even a Kierkegaardian moment, as documented by Vodkapundit, who also received photos from Patrick Rockefeller.
Hitchen’s Pro-Denmark Rally
Christopher Hitchens organized a pro-Denmark rally outside the Danish Embassy in DC today. Vodka Pundit has the photos. Expose the Left has the video of Christopher Hitchens speech. Michelle Malkin and The Political Pitbull have more coverage of the ev…

MMMMMMMM…..Havarti. Nothing quite like Havarti and a sharp chicken salad on a French roll with honey mustard. And yes, when I heard the Golden Dome was blown up, my first thought was “Crikey, those frickin’ Michigan Staters have gone…

D.C. Rally for Denmark at Noon (Updated)
Don’t forget, the D.C. Rally for Denmark that Christopher Hitchens organized is from noon-1.
Update: I made it, although not without driving around for 15 minutes to find a parking spot, a mile walk to the embassy from said parking space…

Islamic Center still stands. Not even a glance from my fellow demonstrators–at least those of us who passed it on our way back to the DuPont Circle Metro.
Totally awesome. Gotta get one of those double-flag pins Cliff May’s wearing . . . I myself submitted to Havarti this very day:
The taste of freedom

Even as he gives a pass to our Blueberry Light ‘n Fit Dannon yogurt, Baby shows sammenhold — the Danish word for solidarity, reports Michelle Malkin — by going for the jugular of our grilled Havarti and Majestic Danish ham
has anyone been able to find the Danes reaction to the support rally?
I wasn’t able to get from St. Louis to DC on such short notice, but I called the local consulate and let him know Denmark is not alone.
I’ve also discovered Havarti cheese…this is some good stuff.
Interesting Absences
As most of my readers already know, Christopher Hitchens organized a demonstration of support in front of the Danish Embassy in Washington at noon today. I wish I could have been there, waving a block of Danish Esrom (like Havarti, but more pungent, a…
I was there too. For my take you can check out:

Supporters of Denmark in the cartoon controversy held a rally in Washington D.C. today. Photos from bloggers who attended can be found at many sites including the one linked just above, Vital Perspectives.Look for Bill Kristol in one of the
You know who lives across the street from the Danish Embassy?
Hilary Rodhimmi Clinton.
I didn’t see her in the crowd, though.
“Submit to havarti”
On Tuesday, one of my favorite liberals, Christopher Hitchens, posted a brilliant and impassioned column entitled “Stand Up for Denmark!” at Slate.com. Needless to say, you should read the whole thing, but this gives you a sense: A small democratic
Sullivan just happened to be in the vicinity on other, uh, business.
Signs of Solidarity: Photos from the Danish Embassy
Today Ray attended a gathering at the Danish Embassy in Washington, DC organized by several bloggers to demonstrate solidarity with Denmark and to support free speech. Here are photos: Solidarity with Denmark: Freedom of Speech. A proud Iraq war veteran
More great photos of the Danish Rally here.
Huff, huff….
Google Maps didn’t mention that the entire route from Dupont Circle was up hill! If we have anymore of these events, I’m going to have to get into better shape…
Finally understood that last sign – “Free Speech” made out of Legos.

“Solidarity with Denmark, death to fascism”
There was a rally for Denmark at the Danish Embassy in DC today that sadly I couldn’t attend, but
I’m a non-conformist. Submitted to Fontini two weeks ago. Wait! Another purchase was made two days ago. Just checked the label. Havarti!…….. Submission complete.
Lego My Free Speech
Where is the American media? Are there really just a handful that have the courage to practice what they preach? Is the blogsphere the only avenue of free speech still left in America?
An early candidate for best protest sign of the year
From a recent rally in front of the Danish Embassy: Context here. Don’t forget to buy Danish in Korea.
Speaking as one of the VodkaPundit’s omnipresent photographers there was a notable dirth of protest babes. It was oddly male-centric. The Lebanese seem to have the American free-speach squads beat in this department.
Do people need to be reminded Danes are Vikings?

Supporting Denmark
PS
NATO, some the signatories can’t even honour a treaty – Fark ‘em.

In The Line Of Fire
Michelle Malkin as usual doesn’t miss a beat: “Today, the NYTimes editorial board pretends to show solidarity….Excuse me? Remind me what day…I really love her, she always tells it like it is, no punches spared there.
Steve. I am shocked…shocked that you did not include MOI in your photo roundup on the rally.
Yes, I was there, camera in hand, as you can discover here. Some good shots of the kids with the signs, and I think I’ve got the best one of the guy with the Lego “Free Speech” sign.
–Robert Bidinotto
I wonder if the Danes (if they did see ANY of these photos in their MSM) would actually understand any of the culture wordplay:
such as “Lego of our Free speech” (an homage to the ‘Leggo my eggo’ commercial) or “Kierkegaard rules” (they were trained in British English so perhaps they would think the man is trying to say Kierkegaard is some sort of ruler, master?) As opposed to Kierkegaard is “awesome, cool, the man, etc..” or “submit to Havarti” would they understand the sarcasm?
There was a lot of good intent here in DC for the Danes, but I wonder if they would really care or if their MSM would jump on the “euro-sophisticantion bandwagon” and they still think everybody from the US are “ugly Americans” like some biotches from Israel. despite the Neo-cons incessant support.
Gee, nothing was blown up, burned down or destroyed! So, that’s how adults have a rally. Go Legoland.

Fatwa Friday: Rally For Freedom, West — Solvang
LGF notes an important Rally for Freedom.
My son the Cub Scout and I did a local version in “The Danish Capital of America”, Solvang, California.
Loved this sign:
