The computer is back up and running – and so am I.
After 3-plus years, hardware just started failing. It all started when I did a forced (CTRL-F5) reload of a web page, and the system rebooted itself. Except it never rebooted. Just kept hanging. It’s an old Gateway box, never once upgraded. So what did I expect?
Catching up on the news now – back in a flash.

Yo,
Contact me next time and I’ll help you out. I’m a desktop tech and specialize in hardware, software, whatever. It’s always a pleasure helping friends out in D-Town. And no, I don’t charge like the morons from the Geek Squad. Maybe a vodka or two.
You’re male. You should be use to hardware failure once in a while. (grins)

ouch, hate when you get hardware failures.
thank god for the portable hard drives that make real backup possible.
good to see you back
Strange.
I just assumed you had a home built PC. I had nothing to base this assumption on, except that you’re smart and that getting a major PC vendor to fix your computer is more hassle than its worth.
Buy a Mac!
(Sorry, couldn’t resist that one…)

P.S. Another RMBB?
How about you organize one for Independence Day festivities at the park there?
As I recall, Colorado Springs had one of the best bashes in the nation. Between the bands, the orchestra with support provided by Fort Carson’s salute battery of artillary, the fireworks and the occasional major thunderstorm, it’s a totally awesome experience.

P.P.S. For the uneducated….
…even if you combined Hercules and Conan as timpanists, they could never match the awesome banging of a battery of 75mm pack-howitzers.
Yes, the 1812 Overture, when performed with a proper percussion section, is a wonder to behold.
