We have seven (at last count) “free-range” peacocks and peahens in my neighborhood in the hills of SoCal. They are silly, vain, noisy, gorgeous, and vastly entertaining (except when I have to get out and chase a strutting peacock off my driveway so that I can get to work!). They also eat snakes, bless ‘em!
At some point it’s bragging…
I’m just saying…
Nice, very nice photograph. Were these birds on the grounds of the hotel? I have heard that they are very noisy and bad-tempered.
So we’re back to wildlife photography, now? (Sigh)
I really liked the other “wild life” photography.
(Seriously: Thanks for the pictures. You obviously had a great vacation. It looks like paradise.)
In some ways I’m an environmentalist: Who would believe such an odd creature really exists without seeing one?
Save the cool animals!
P.S. Are peacocks “natural” or the result of a breeding program?
Natural. Just like macaws, tucans and frigate birds. Pretty cool stuff, if you can find it.

Jeff at Protien Wisdom should post a ‘conversation with my peacock.’ It’d write itself.
Peacock: I’ll show you mine.

I would SWEAR that bird is at one of the beautiful hotels around the Chichen Itza archaeological site.
Where IS this from Stephen?
