I take it as an acknowledgement of an ugly part of our history, and a statement to people who try to use that history against us or to humble us, that we will not be deterred from our mission to bring freedom and democracy to the peoples of the world.

I’m not sure how to feel about this song, or the movie. I haven’t seent the movie, yet. However, I bought the CD based on rave reviews from conservative bloggers. Am I missing the joke??? The only song I enjoyed was Kim Jong Mentally Ill’s, “I’m so lonely”.
Is the movie worth my time?

Yeah, go see the movie. The best song in the movie (Kim Jong Il’s “You So Rurfress Arreck Bawrin”) isn’t on the soundtrack.
I watched this at home, before anyone got up. This link, like the movie, is very funny, however…..
It would only be “work-safe” in a porn store, and the little kiddies might not want to be looking over your shoulder or within ear-shot while at home.
Let me get this straight- you followed a link titled “America: Fuck Yeah!” and didn’t consider the possibility that it might not be entirely work-safe?
It went by awfully fast in the credits, but: “Funded by – the Five Jew Bankers”.

I would not have pursued the link at work. You’re right that “Fuck Yeah” implies that if someone might be watching your net usage, then it would be prudent to not go further.
My point above, was that depending on one’s circumstances at home, clicking might not be wise either. No harm done at my house, but a little more warning might have been helpful to some.
All that said, and as I said earlier, the link and the movie are quite funny.

Put it this way…underneath the puppets and profanity of Team America is a deadly accurate satire of conservative American jingoism, liberal naiviety, popmous celebrities, and the impotence of the UN.
And Michael Moore explodes!
If you were put off by reviews, most of them totally missed the point and failed to recognize even the obvious political themes of the movie.
Go see it. If you’re willing to drop $15 on the CD, you’re much better off seeing $7 to see the actual movie.
