America: Fuck Yeah!
I’ve already watched it twice.
UPDATE: Three times. And that’s it for me for the night – the stomach bug I thought I’d fought off yesterday has come back for another round. Betcha I beat the thing by morning. Again.
Uhh–did they just sing “slavery!! F*** yeah!!”
All I can say is…WTF?
Other than that, it was pretty f***in’ cool!
The dream that we all share
It’s been around for a while, but I hadn’t seen this video from Sporkmonkey.net until this morning: America: Fuck Yeah! music from the movie Team America (thanks to Vodkapundit) Not completely safe for work and you’ll need your sound on…
America – Kicking Ass and Taking Names
Great video/flash to watch:
America, Fuck Yeah! (Work Safe for morons who want to get fired.)
Note: Watch for the creepy catalog image of the guy in the flag sweater.
Thanks to Vodkapundit for the 411.
Just acknowledging that we do have flaws; but we’re still a great country nonetheless.
The VodkaPundit seems to have missed this important drinking innovation.
Scientism never sleeps!
Uh, was that a fuck you to bush?
Somebody needs to intercept the al Jazeera satellite feed and stick this in instead. Note: the url shown at the end and the website up during the “internet” part. (Curtsy: Vodkapundit. He’s sick. Needs to switch to brandy.)…
I’m with Ed.
Hmmm, “abolition” almost scans there…
Re: “slavery!! F*** yeah!!”
I take it as an acknowledgement of an ugly part of our history, and a statement to people who try to use that history against us or to humble us, that we will not be deterred from our mission to bring freedom and democracy to the peoples of the world.
Yeah, we made mistakes. What are you going to do about it?
I’m not sure how to feel about this song, or the movie. I haven’t seent the movie, yet. However, I bought the CD based on rave reviews from conservative bloggers. Am I missing the joke??? The only song I enjoyed was Kim Jong Mentally Ill’s, “I’m so lonely”.
Is the movie worth my time?
Well yeah we had slavery. We also fought a civil war to end it…
… while certain European powers backed the the South’s effort to keep it…
You might say it was all about the COTTTTONNN!!!
I guess you can never have to much whatever-the-fuck that was ….
Yeah, go see the movie. The best song in the movie (Kim Jong Il’s “You So Rurfress Arreck Bawrin”) isn’t on the soundtrack.
I watched this at home, before anyone got up. This link, like the movie, is very funny, however…..
It would only be “work-safe” in a porn store, and the little kiddies might not want to be looking over your shoulder or within ear-shot while at home.
Let me get this straight- you followed a link titled “America: Fuck Yeah!” and didn’t consider the possibility that it might not be entirely work-safe?
It went by awfully fast in the credits, but: “Funded by – the Five Jew Bankers”.
A “Sealab 2021″ reference. Cool.
I would not have pursued the link at work. You’re right that “Fuck Yeah” implies that if someone might be watching your net usage, then it would be prudent to not go further.
My point above, was that depending on one’s circumstances at home, clicking might not be wise either. No harm done at my house, but a little more warning might have been helpful to some.
All that said, and as I said earlier, the link and the movie are quite funny.
“Is the movie worth my time?”
Put it this way…underneath the puppets and profanity of Team America is a deadly accurate satire of conservative American jingoism, liberal naiviety, popmous celebrities, and the impotence of the UN.
And Michael Moore explodes!
If you were put off by reviews, most of them totally missed the point and failed to recognize even the obvious political themes of the movie.
Go see it. If you’re willing to drop $15 on the CD, you’re much better off seeing $7 to see the actual movie.
LINK WHORING AND OTHER DRIVEL
another one of those big time bloggers who took about a month off after the election while the rest of us slaved away making the world safe for democracy, women, children, and stuffed animals named “Alfredo the Great.”
The link worked for me the first time I tried it, but it seems to be failing now. Can anyone else get it to work?
What is this? It won’t load in Mozilla, Firefox or (blech) Internet Exploder.
Any other source for it?
