Brava, Megan – for the reasoning even more than the conclusion.
Very interesting to watch her deliberate and ponder her choice, and to contrast that to the way Andrew Sullivan “deliberated.”
With Andrew you were certain which way he’d go.
Bravo to Megan for being ruthlessly honest in her reasoning.
I don’t agree that W cost US our allies, but then again, I’m older than she and have a different world view and background.
I’ll second that Sandy.
Actually I disagreed with the bulk of her foreign policy analysis.
To quote Captain Tenneal: “Well, you’re wrong….”
I’m pleased with her conclusion and with the process she went through to take it. Some of her statements along the way made me shake my head and go, “huh?”
Whatever. Chalk another one up for W. Yay!
I think Megan took a very reasoned approach and made a decision based on all available factors. the reality is: environment, health care, transportation, freedom, all of it pales when your personal security is threatened. That takes precedence above anything. We cannot afford a president who changes his mind and vote at the slightest tilt in the poll wind. Bush has had four years of hell, but he is much the stronger for it, and the enemy knows what they are dealing with. Kerry will be challenged, and challenged hard by the terrorists, and at the end of the day, he will flee, just like Clinton did, time and time again. When the terrorists smell a weak America, they, like sharks, will attack. Then, there will be no second chance.
