On John Bachelor’s radio show on ABC 770AM in NYC last night, the consensus among the guests was Arafat has AIDS. He’s being taken to Paris probably to make sure he’s cremated before anyone can do an autopsy and reveal that, like a lot of Arabs, Arafat likes young boys.
My husband and I were discussing at lunch how delicately President Bush would have to word an official response should Arafat die. We figure it would be something along the lines of sympathy for his family and hope that the Palestinians and Israelis can work toward peace.
Now, for a President Kerry, we figure the writing would be easy: the nation mourning the loss of a Nobel Peace Prize winner.
You’re all being horrible. You’re just sitting there wishing for this poor man to die.
See, me, I thought that we should help the peace process along and give Arafat the respect he deserves by offering to send a well-known doctor to give him a quick once-over. Doctor Kevorkian is probably free, don’t you think?
Actually Kervorkian is in jail still (IIRC). However, it might be time to put him on a work-release program. . .
There’s just so much good he could do, administering to the needs of the region’s leaders.
I wonder if Yasir is using the health thing as a cover to accept a deal similar to the deal he didn’t take before. Now that Saddam’s money isn’t rolling in, it’s gotta be harder to scare up suicide bombers, and if he steps aside for reasons other than surrendering (i.e. health) he gets to partially save face.
Maybe his is dying. He is old, and I suspect hasn’t lived the healthiest life. One the other hand, could be something along the lines of what MarkD suggested. YA is a wiley old murderer. He may just want out until the dust of the Palestinian civil war subsides and wants to have a good excuse – sick in the hospital – to justify staying out of it.
However, I fervantly hope he is dying, and does so a day or two after the election. The sooner the Palestinians get to their inevitable civil war, the sooner the thugs kill each other off, the less the tragedy and death for the innocent, and the sooner it’s over and those talented people recover their sanity and join the world again.
One of the hardest lessons to truly get sometimes is that we, as Christians, are to love our enemies. It’s one thing to kill a person in self defense or in a war (See La Shawn Barber’s post “Onward, Christian…
Help me out here. I’ve looked into several sites tonight that claim YA is a pedophile. HUH??? Never heard about this before. I’m no fan of Arafat; he obiously saw greater power to be gained by playing the statesman only to reject the best deal the Palestinians were ever going to get.
BTW, that comment by Chuck was pretty nasty.
From Mr. Green – ” Sharon declined to give the order to squeeze the trigger – a mistake I’m sure he regrets to this day.”
From Chuck – “I suspect that Senator Kerry’s former commanding officer has some regrets along these lines as well.”
Personally I stop short of saying that those I disagree with should be shot.
Keep in mind folks that arafish has not “seen” his wife in over 3 years….those little boys look like his substitute as there are not sheep in his compound. He can pound his pud but, that won’t give him the satisfaction of making the poor little boys scream. This murdering bastard deserves a slow, painful and miserable death. We can settle for nothing less.
For that matter, the USMC helped get him out of Beirut when it came time for him to skitter.
Just now I think that he’s too busy regretting Rabin.
Hope it’s painful to.
What is this, thugs and dictators auditioning for the Three Stooges by taking headers all over the place? First Castro, then Arafat.
A second Bush term could be legendary…seeing the end of Castro, Arafat, and possibly Khadaffi in addition to Saddam.
Cleaning up the messes those guys leave behind will be vitally important…and I’d rather not have France and Kofi Annan to be the ones doing it.
May his first day in Hell last a thousand years… and may it be the shortest.

Good, he’s going to Paris to die. Now the Palestinians can blame the French for his death.
I can’t claim to be the first to say this, but, I hope the murderous old bastard lives just long enough to see W re-elected. That would be tres chic
Looking forward to “Generalisimo Francisco Franco is still dead” headlines.

Should we give out candy????
Joe:
Not a bad idea. Maybe Arafat will make it easier for us and croak on Halloween.
“Let’s hope it’s really the end for this murderous shit”
Why don’t you tell us what you really think?!
You’re all being horrible. You’re just sitting there wishing for this poor man to die.

I figure Bush will ask Jimmy Carter to attend the funeral for the Insurgent Billionaire.

I suspect that Senator Kerry’s former commanding officer has some regrets along these lines as well.

I’d just like to know WHICH hospital to bomb.
My husband and I were discussing at lunch how delicately President Bush would have to word an official response should Arafat die.
Well, not being a president seeking re-election, I can offer a glimpse of what my public statement will be when Arafat finally croaks.
Think Howard Dean’s hobbit war cry, only louder, longer and with some actual joy.
Forget Ariel, Nixon should have taken care of him.

If only I’d been fast enough to buy yesterday.
You think Sharon regrets it? Imagine how the sniper feels…
I’d just like to know WHICH hospital to bomb.
He’s going to Paris to be treated, right? Take no chances. Bomb all the hospitals in Paris.

Perfect.
Apologies.

A hospital in France, eh? Well, there probably won’t be a heat wave in November, but did he reminder to ask for a room with air conditioning?

Get him a grenade and ask Chirac to visit him in the hospital. Then wake up the virgins.
