No Touching Please

Earlier, I asked which pundits would next distance themselves from John Kerry — but I never in a million years expected to see this:
There’s no link yet; it’s the latest above-the-mast teaser from Drudge. You can bet that somewhere right now, Kerry is throwing darts at a picture of Daschle.
Or at least having a servant throw them for him.
UPDATE: Now filled with linky goodness.

Oh Man! Unbelievable! My sides are aching! This is just too fun to watch.
golly, you think hes got some poll numbers that tell him something that most Democrats dont want to admit?
That Bush – though controversial -is still more popular that Kerry?
Who is running these campaigns?
Kerrys advice has him acting like a real-life transporter accident, where one guy steps in and two complete sides of his personality step out as full individuals – Metrosexual Kerry and Commander Kerry. It’s not flip flopping, hes just completely unaware of how his doppleganger is answering questions on the campaign trail.
Daschle – is now running for cover, ensuring that the Democrat core wont vote for him and the Republicans dont respect cowardace in the face of fire.
How does this win anything? Where do the Democrats go to get their money back?
Daschle’s line at the end: “I’m Tom Daschle and I approve this ad, because a strong military and a strong America is the best way to fight terrorism.”
This in an ad where he’s literally embracing Bush?
This would be like a knife in the back, but coming from the Senate Minority leader (essentially Kerry’s boss) it’s a knife through the heart…complete with the “sorry pal” expression in Daschle’s eyes as Kerry slumps to the floor. Granted, Daschle wants to keep his job and South Dakota isn’t exactly a swing state, but oh my god.
Et tu, Daschle?
National Security is the Defining Issue in this Election
If you need further proof Stepehn Green has it. Be sure to click through to the Drudge story for the all the info.
In September and October of 2001, I assumed this kind of behaviour would be the norm.
Daschle would rather be the last Democrat in the Senate than have to go back to … whatever the hell he used to do back home in South Dakota before he got that Senate gig.
Hey, if he’s the last Democrat in the Senate he can continue to be minority leader.
Daschle’s internal polls must be right through the floor if he’s this desperate in August.
Can’t wait to see what the South Dakota blog guys make of this (to say nothing of what the Argus Leader’s reaction is likely to be)…
Mike M:
Your observation that Daschle is essentially Kerry’s boss is interesting, and consistent with the Swifties’ take. None of Kerry’s superior officers seem to like him, either.
Daschle will hug anybody, it seems.
Wasn’t he just in hot water for hugging Gasbag Moore at the F911 opening?
Pro-Kedwards bumper sticker reading “Vampires against Bush”: $3.95
527′s affiliated with Dems attacking the President: $63 million
Tom Daschle campaign ad where he affiliates himself positively with the President: Priceless
Hogarth,
Daschle denied ever hugging Moore.
Daschle’s opponent has the perfect line. Vote for the real thing because you never know what the left will flip flop about next.
Drudge Report – Daschle Endorses Bush
Well, sort of. Two hug scandals in one election campaign? What a joke….

RE: Why….
….am I reminded of the episode form Babylon 5, where Londo tries to get a photo of the Techno-Mage giving him a brotherly hand-shake?
Regards,
Chuck(le)
P.S. All the indicators are that Daschle is ‘running scared’, if he has to sneak in pictures of him whispering something in Bush’s ear as part of his re-election campaign strategy.
Sister -
Yeah, and Clinton denied (insert easily proven scandal here).
