New Blogs

The Infidel Cowboy is a fine new blog — and worth visiting just for the name. If I’d have thought of it, I’d have used it myself. Well, except I look stupid in the hats. And I tend to fall trying to walk in the boots. And the belt buckles are sometimes bigger around than my scrawny waist.
And, oh yeah, I get beat up at cowboy bars.
But other than that, I really wish I’d thought of it first. Anyway, there was supposed to be a Significant Link in all this, so let’s get to it. Ever seen a sportswriter get fisked?
Let’s just say that Rick Reilly really ought to stick to sports.

Rick Reilly is considered one of the best U.S. sportswriters???
The guy has been an ABB loon since the U.S. started preparing for taking on Afghanistan. The way he oh-so-archly used the death of Pat Tillman to piss on Bush, the war, the U.S. and Tillman himself was perfaps his nadir.
He’d be a perfect sportswriter for the NY Times.
Screw that. Reilly’s worthless. I still haven’t forgiven that worthless sack of crap for calling Bo Jackson a coward in 1985.
Hey, Ricky, you ever line up against Cornelius Bennett with a rack of broken ribs? Bo did that year, you little pencil-necked geek, and he got about 150 yards, if my memory serves.
I agree, Will, that Reilly is worthless, and have edited my post slightly to more accurate show my regard for his work.
It is unfortunate, but not to hard to understand, that he is held in high esteem by his mainstream media peers, however, since they share the same biases.
“Let’s just say that Rick Reilly really ought to stick to sports.”
Same could be said about Littwin of the Denver Post.
I’ve never liked Reilly. He’s one of those sportswriters that takes his job, and sports in general, way too seriously. His self-righteous tomes (e.g., the article in question) too often promote some lame social conscience that so many sportswriters try to force.
