“I will appoint an attorney general who will uphold the Constitution…”
Oh, boy. You know I’m know John Ashcroft fan, but the AG has simply been enforcing the lousy PATRIOT ACT that Kerry voted for.

Like Janet Reno?,who only incinerated 47 children and returned one to a gulag? is he kidding?
I wonder…does that dogged enforcement of the Constitution include the 10th Amendment? If so, how does he square about 99% of his policy initiatives with it? If not, what else goes on the chopping block?
Nice cheap shot at a guy with whom he served in the Senate. Sheesh.
Kerry apparently wrote the portion of the PATRIOT ACT relating to money laundering.
I’m curious:
Would it be supporting the Constitution for the sitting AG NOT to enforce the law? Especially if there is no court, AFAICT, that has overturned the Patriot Act as unconstitutional?
Is this another case where John votes for something he really doesn’t agree with, but has to for political reasons, then trashes it later when it looks politically safe to do so?
Is John a secret(closet) card caring supporter of the ACLU? This left of left organization and its members are the only ones I know of who have a problem with the Patriot Act law.
John seemed to only speak against it after the ACLU had whipped up their members and scared the heck out of a bunch of others.
