My Old School

I remember an episode of “Hollywood Squares” hosted by Peter Marshall (I’m dating myself). One of the squares got the question (recalling from memory), “What person planned to have written on his tombstone, ‘I shall return?’” The square and the contestant went for the obvious, but it wasn’t MacArthur. The answer was Vincent Price – who was one of the other squares that day.
I like how you lured us in with talking about high school and Vincent Price, and then finally threw in the zinger and main point about Jackson in the end.
Very nicely done.
Stephen,
You left out the best part. Why were you thrown out of school?
Did they find out you were a conservative?
Good luck finding your ring. Did you look in the vacuum cleaner bag?
I’m not surprised by this at all, and I have no sympathy whatsoever for Michael Jackson. What I WOULD like to know, however, is what parent in his or her right mind would allow their child to be alone with Michael Jackson after everything that has been written or reported about him? Yes, it’s wonderful that they’re pressing criminal charges and aren’t pressing civil charges. They want “justice” for their son. What they SHOULD have done in the first place is to run away from Neverland as far and as fast as their legs would carry them in the first place. Surely this was reckless endangerment.
If I’m the prosecutors, all I ask is a jury of people who have never heard of Wacko Jacko (if that isn’t his legal name by now, it should be). One look at the guy, and the charges, and he’s as good as convicted.
My buddy Ron is host of Crap from the Past here in the Twin Cities. A couple of weeks ago (Halloween, in fact!), he played one of the rehearsal takes of Mr. Price reciting his Thriller poem. Man, what a voice.
One of my few brushes with fame was to help Mr. Price with a suitcase at the Twin Cities airport once several years ago. I managed not to gush, and he expressed a genuine appreciation for the hand, and that was that. Class act. I hate to see his name associated with that freak who used to sing.
It was a few million in the previous case, but that doesn’t effect your point!
There are supposedley up to a dozen children involved in the current investigation. We’ll see how many counts end up being filed.
ok first, i know ive changed name three times but um…. i like the three of them, and u cant call me ur little brother cuz last time we checked im bigger, but ne wayz how ironic that u put 2 of the scariest people on the earth (dead or alive) in the same posting, vincent price and micheal jackson. jack, that dude is just a freak. i mean that dude was born black and is now whiter than a redneck in the north pole. and vincent price, that dudes just kinda creep……..
correct me if i’m wrong but there wasn’t enough evidence to prosecute. the parents in 93 settled out of court in the civil case, probably to spare their child any more embarresment. the only person to blame here is Jackson himself.
I see the necessity that drives parents to do well for their own family and leave other parents to think about how to do well for theirs. A few million dollars from Jacko must have payed for therapy for the child, if any was required, with plenty left over for education, health care, and every other material good for the entire family. I can certainly see myself making the decision to settle for a few million dollars, especially if the only alleged penalty was a spot in Hell.
Sorry doug I dont see that kind of necessity. They either extored the money from Jackson or their kid was abused and they took the money and ran. Either way they made themselves more evil than Jackson ever could be. These folks stuffing their pockets with slience money is the ultimate wrong. They could have easily taken it to court and then sued to get their precious cash.

WE NEEDED NO MOLESTER.
