The current meltdown in the totally out of control State Department, the FBI fiasco, the INS debacle, and what looks to be the Cheney vulnerability (at best, guilt at worst) at Harkin is going to be tough to overcome.
Airport security is a mess, Homeland Security is bogged down in turf wars, and corporate reform??? Anything that passes the corrupt Senate 97-0 is be definition bad legislation and may act to actually wreck the markets.
Top that off with the fact that Bush can’t fire anybody no matter how bad they are and you have the Dems sweeping in.
