Salman Rushdie on the prospects for nuclear war
Interesting…Rushdie wants us to occupy Kashmir…Fisk wants us to occupy Israel…cases could be made for forcing occupation on other nations (Zimbabwe leaps to mind)…is the Left urging a return to the 19th century colonial paradigm? White man’s burden, indeed!! (And, it should be noted, Kipling’s poem is deeply sarcastic of the colonial mindset).
How does one answer mud? Come on! How many dag-blasted centuries of history shall we dig up here?
I have an answer, but I need to refresh my drink first.
…OK, I’m back.
Who controls what will be history? That is to say, who controls current events? That is to say, who controls what is happening now? That is to say, who controls what will be history?
That is to say, I forget (as I am want to do) who it was who said, “History is a set of lies agreed upon.”
No one controls history, but those of us who are alive now control our current events, just as those who lived before us controlled and endured events of their eras.
I have to pee now.
Good luck at making any sense of this, VP, but I meant every word.
You sure are cute.
OK, someone outdrank me tonight — and that’s a recipe for disaster for you amateur drinkers.
Look, becoming a good drinker is like training for the Olympics. Every day, whether you want to or not, you have to drink, drink, drink.
And, please, if your liver isn’t already up to that Olympian ideal, please don’t drink a blog.
Er, please don’t drink AND blog.
But at least I made sense right up until then.
What VP says is true, kiddies. Don’t try drinking and blogging at home.
Who knows who may be watching now?
