Progressives routinely call anyone they disagree with “racist.” If you oppose any pro-welfare proposal, you’re racist. If you oppose illegal immigration, you’re racist. If you oppose gun control, you’re racist. They can seriously play that game all day long. It’s actually kind of impressive, like how a toddler can scream at the top of his lungs past the point where anyone else would have given himself an aneurysm.
However, they routinely ignore the actual racism within their own ranks.
Take, for example, what recently transpired in California.
The Washington Free Beacon reports, “Progressive protesters lined up along a fence on Tuesday to protest Rep. Jeff Denham (R., Calif.) as he exited a vehicle, prompting one female protester to denigrate his Hispanic wife by saying, ‘Shame on your Mexican wife.'”
Why shame on her? What did she do?
Oh, that’s right. She married a Republican, thus leaving the Latin branch of the Progressive Plantation.
Denham’s opponent, Democrat Joshua Harder, was called out, then apparently liked the tweet calling him out, before quickly unliking it. Unfortunately, as they say, the internet is forever.

Denham understandably called out Harder over his supporters’ antics and his apparent endorsement of their attack.

I’m sure Harder will claim it was an accident or something similar, assuming he doesn’t go full “Russian bots hacked my Twitter.” That wouldn’t be surprising either, though.
However, the fact that this even happened illustrates one of the primary issues I have with progressives. You see, they believe that all minorities owe their allegiance to the progressive cause because progressives say they’re working for minorities. Minorities aren’t permitted to have the agency to decide for themselves whom they will and will not support. They’re supposed to do as they’re told by their leftist betters.
Which is male bovine excrement.
Sonia Denham has as much right to her opinion as anyone else regardless of her race, the same as anyone else. She doesn’t owe anything to the progressives unless she decides she does. The same is true for members of any other race.
The idea that someone of a given race should have certain politics is outright racism and that’s just what progressives do. They have to try and bully minorities who don’t have approved thoughts into changing their mind. And look at how they do it: “Shame on your Mexican wife.” Disgusting.
Remember this the next time the left tries to label anyone a racist.
