NOAA Refuses House GOP Subpoena of Research Denying Pause in Global Warming

Via The Hill:

The federal government’s chief climate research agency is refusing to give House Republicans the detailed information they want on a controversial study on climate change.

Citing the confidentiality of the requested documents and the integrity of the scientific process, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said it won’t give Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) what he recently subpoenaed about the research.

At the center of the controversy is a study that concluded there has not been a 15-year “pause” in global warming. Some NOAA scientists contributed to the report.
Skeptics of climate change, including Smith, have cited the pause to prove that increased greenhouse gas emissions, mostly from burning fossil fuels, are not heating up the globe.

Odd that something touted as blatantly obvious should have research methods cloaked in mystery, don’t you think?

Worry not, ASSURANCES HAVE BEEN GIVEN:

NOAA spokesman Ciaran Clayton said the internal communications are confidential, and not related to what Smith is trying to find out.

“We have provided data (all of which is publicly available online), supporting scientific research, and multiple in person briefings,” she said.

Thankfully, the climate science community has never been rocked by a scandal involving confidential internal communications and the falsification of data.

Oh wait.

From the infamous hockey stick graph by Michael Mann, to the above-mentioned “climategate”, the global warming alarmist community has been all about the manipulation of data. They should be more than eager to be transparent and prove that those two data whoppers were anomalies.

Unless, of course, there’s more to hide.

Stay cool out there, it’ll be pretty easy to do.
