A California Democrat took out an ad on Craigslist today to give House Republicans a hand in finding a new Speaker of the House.

Rep. Mark Takano posted the ad on the government jobs board after Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) dropped out of the race.

“It seems like we’re having a hard time finding the next Speaker, so I created a Craigslist ad to boost our search,” Takano tweeted.

The ad takes a stab at McCarthy’s quote on the Select Committee on Benghazi and Hillary Clinton’s tanking poll numbers.

Takano’s office ended up not posting the ad to the online classifieds site, so no one gets to send their resume to the House of Cards-styled email address. The ad would have joined today’s Craigslist postings for “great pay and benefits” in District of Columbia government positions and a management analyst position to support the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery.

Craigslist and Capitol Hill have been uncomfortably entwined before. In 2011, Rep. Christopher Lee (R-N.Y.) resigned after he sent a shirtless photo to a personal ad that stated, “Will someone prove to me not all CL men look like toads?”

Lee said he was a divorced lobbyist. The woman who placed the ad eventually discovered his real identity and turned over the emails to Gawker.
