Could Another Democrat Beat Hillary Clinton? Strategists Offer a Blueprint

She has been called inevitable. The can’t-be-stopped candidate. Hillary Rodham Clinton is such an overwhelming favorite in presidential primary polls that most prominent Democrats are taking a pass on challenging her. But politics can be an unpredictable business, and those of us covering the campaign have been wondering: Is there any way a Democratic challenger could beat Hillary Rodham Clinton?

We asked three of the smartest Democratic strategists we know to imagine this situation: You are running the campaign of a liberal Democrat against Mrs. Clinton. You have $50 million to spend. “So as not to anger Mrs. Clinton” — what? Even as they plot Lady Macbeth’s downfall, humiliation and possible incarceration, the peasants have to be careful while muttering anonymously. Read the piece for the various suggestions to exploit HRC’s many vulnerabilities, most of which have to do with her sheer unlikeability and arrogance, aloofness and unearned sense of privilege. Plus, she’s actually pretty stupid, having accomplished basically nothing in her life except to cause the deaths of four Americans at Benghazi. And now Barry Hussein, who speaks through the Times, is hanging her out to dry.

The best hope for someone running against her, all three strategists said, was to be real.

Well, it’s a start.
