Survey: Britain's Jews Fear They Have no Future in Europe

Following the Islamist attack on a kosher market in Paris, a new survey reveals that Jews in Britain are worried about their future in Europe. The survey of 2,230 British Jews was released on Wednesday by the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism (CAA).

Almost half (45%) of Jews fear they have no future in Britain and 58% fear they have no future in Europe. The survey was conducted online from December 23 to January 11, a period of time that preceded and followed the attack on the kosher market in Paris by Islamic terrorists.

“The results of our survey are a shocking wake-up call straight after the atrocities in Paris,” said CAA chairman Gideon Falter.

“Britain is at a tipping point. Unless anti-Semitism is met with zero tolerance, it will grow and British Jews will increasingly question their place in their own country.”

One-quarter of respondents say they have thought about leaving Britain in the last two years.

According to the CAA, Britain had the most anti-Semitic incidents since antisemitism began being recorded 30 years ago. The AFP writes: “Official figures from London’s metropolitan police showed anti-Semitic crimes more than doubled in the capital over the 12 months to November 2014, compared to the same period a year earlier.”

Another study survey by YouGov found that one-quarter of all Brits believe Jews chase money more than other people. Other disturbing findings: 17% thought Jews have too much power in the media, 13% say the Jews talk about the Holocaust to get sympathy and, in total, 45% believed at least one anti-Semitic statement.
