Matt Boyle has this fascinating piece about the inner workings of the legislative battle this week over the border crisis.  The bill pushed by the Republican leadership had a number of serious defects.

The story recounted by Boyle is how a small group of activists and congressmen drove the immigration narrative, and ultimately the legislative outcome.

Buried toward the end of Boyle’s piece is a disgraceful statement from Florida Representative Alcee Hastings (D):

Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) decried the House GOP lawsuit as he addressed “all the white people in here” during the Rules Committee hearing — which was filled with battles between the Democrats and the newly unified Republicans like Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte and Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers, who both also commented to the Rules panel.

Forget about Hastings’ impeachable past.  What his statement represents is the increasingly open philosophy in Democrat Party circles that race explains everything, including the certain demise of the GOP in time.  Instead of acquiescing to this evil, instead of accepting the premise of this immoral racialism, the Republican Party must strike back.

has

David Horowitz this week said it’s time for Republicans to start calling out the racists in the Democrat Party.  He’s right.  The response to those who would support Alcee Hastings cannot be outreach.  Instead, the GOP must borrow the morality of the civil rights movement and condemn, isolate and ridicule the sentiments of Alcee Hastings and his ilk.  If you ignore the cancerous attitude he expressed this week, it will continue to metastasize and block your timid “growth and opportunity” outreach.

No matter how much money the GOP spends, you cannot sow the seeds of opportunity on soil where the enemy has sown weeds.  The GOP must first bundle the weeds and burn them.

How?

Democrats lost America's first Civil War because they enslaved Black people. Democrats are going to lose America's second Civil War because they attempted to enslave everyone else...

Not every Democrat was a KuKluxKlan member, but every KuKluxKlan member was a democrat.

Race is to blame for Alcee Hastings being in Congress rather than in prison where he belongs.

Your wrong. Suggest you look at racial polarization data from elections. The slur works.

Meanwhile, the other side enforces groupthink.
And gridlock. Funny thing happened on the way to identifying good and evil, Hammas kills it's own and blames their deaths on Israel, Democrats kill bills aimed at solving problems and blame Republicans, funny how that works, birds of a feather and all that. Not that alls Democrats want to kill Jews, but, well, wait a sec. Er, well, not that Hammas works against it's stated goals like the people running VA, but, well wait, that doesn't work either, I mean, evil kind of looks like evil all around does it not?

If it's true that white people prevent amnesty then Americans of all colors should be thanking them.

White people? I thought it was American citizens who were against illegal immigration, unwarranted amnesty for scofflaws and outlaws and want to see immigration laws upheld. I'm all for legal immigration under current guidelines*—yes, even from Central America. Scofflaws and outlaws deserve deportation or prison, not "DREAM"s or rewards.

Federal District Court Judge Hastings was impeached, convicted and removed from the court for taking bribes from mobsters. Unfortunately, his sentence didn't forbid him from seeking a political office.

*Changing the definition of who is a refugee without going through Congress is just another way of creating amnesty by imperial act, not democratic processes.

Alcee Hastings was an impeached corrupt federal judge before he became a corrupt congressman. It's a shame the electorate in this country just cannot do better.

Hiram Revels and Blanche Bruce would be spinning in their graves.

The first two black senators in all of US history were Republicans from Mississippi. They weren't tokens. They were substantial men of accomplishment.

And, good grief, whites and blacks were integrating at the same rate as any other immigrant- you can't get more integrated than marriage with children- until Woodrow Wilson, a progressive Democrat. And racist, eugenicist, hysteric. It is all Democrat crimes, all the way down.

My neighborhood is more integrated than Chris Matthews entire town. I don't want a ridiculous race war- that would kill my neighbors, my cousins, my kids' friends, the PTA president's kids.

This man is saying evil, evil things. He needs to be called out.

and tell me how amnesty is going to help unemployed, uneducated black Americans.

But no problem blacks you see what your vote did for Detroit, and how you become expendable with hispanics coming in.

Blacks if you thought you were second glass citizens, you haven't seen anything yet.

so some one please tell us at what point we can't afford any more illegals that such the life out of tax paying, hard working Americans that can barely pay for their own family,

But now they see illegals with flat screens, gyms, hair salon, buffet, and being subsidized at a reported rate of $140/day, or $4200/month, or more than $50,000year, tax free paid for by the average american that has seen his income drop in both real dollars and dollars adjusted for inflation

Black politicians are to blame for a perpetual black underclass. The amnesty is for Democrat politicians to import constituents to entrench themselves in power.

Blacks who voted for Obama because he was black suffer the most in Obama's recession and incompetence, will suffer the worse with the influx of Hispanics, competing with them for jobs, welfare, and political power.

If blacks are so stupid to support black politicians and Democrats regardless of their own interest, they deserve what they get. Please don't cry on TV and tell us how terrible their neighborhood is, how little jobs are available. How heartless are the rest of the country not caring for their plights. They ask for it.

And if Alcee Hastings really cared about black Americans, he would be thanking those who rejected amnesty instead of excoriating them.
