Scaaaaaary.

Climate change is already having sweeping effects on every continent and throughout the world’s oceans, scientists reported Monday, and they warned that the problem is likely to grow substantially worse unless greenhouse emissions are brought under control.

The report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a United Nations group that periodically summarizes climate science, concluded that ice caps are melting, sea ice in the Arctic is collapsing, water supplies are coming under stress, heat waves and heavy rains are intensifying, coral reefs are dying, and fish and many other creatures are migrating toward the poles or in some cases going extinct.

The oceans are rising at a pace that threatens coastal communities and are becoming more acidic as they absorb some of the carbon dioxide given off by cars and power plants, which is killing some creatures or stunting their growth, the report found.

This is the same group that has been peddling the hysteria snake oil for years and threatening the imminent floating of polar bears all about the place. That it comes from the United Nations should be enough cause for healthy skepticism, but too many still take that international clown car seriously.

What the UN is really all about is global welfare and draining cash and influence from the better developed countries:

The poorest people in the world, who have had virtually nothing to do with causing global warming, will be high on the list of victims as climatic disruptions intensify, the report said. It cited a World Bank estimate that poor countries need as much as $100 billion a year to try to offset the effects of climate change; they are now getting, at best, a few billion dollars a year in such aid from rich countries.

There you have it. They feel that they’re not bleeding the rich countries enough, so the story has to get scarier.

Somebody needs to shut this global socialism factory down.

Given a list of 14 'problems' facing the USA - and on that list was 'climate change' (when has it ever been static - eh?) Americans were asked to rate those 'problems' in order of importance to them - climate change came in second to last - race relations squeaked in just behind climate change to eek out a last place finish.

THIS....is the whole premise of the hoax.

It is a scheme. Based upon a crock, pushed as totalitarianism, "settled" BS, and there are STILL people who think it is "innocent mistake"....rather than a plot.

My daughter and son-in-law are surf guides in the Maldives (no, they didn't see any plane) and have been for about 10 years. These atolls were supposed to be under water by now or at least experience some oceanic incursion.

Nope. None. Nada. Zero. Zip.

So the report can be summed up in three words, "pay up suckas."

An absurdity of man: Try to control and manipulate Mother Nature - unintended and unexpected consequences, for the worse not the better. Nothing exceeds the arrogance and the prideful nature of man.

Notice the mantra of the IPCC report is based on helping "the poor" and the "poverty-stricken."

These charlatans cannot help themselves, can they - these prophets of doom - these naysayers of rational and reasonable debate.

I don't mind helping the poor and poverty stricken, its the bloated and unnecessary bureaucracies that crop up to 'help' the needy that I hate feeding. Seems like you got to feed the sharks to help the 'little fish' these days.

The more cash that flows from wealthy countries to third-world hellholes, the easier it is for the corrupt bureaucrats in the UN to siphon off enough to pay for their lavish lifestyle.

Climate change is the only real reason for that international cash conduit to operate, so they'll keep beating that drum.

That, and "the poor". Don't forget "the poor".

You know, because if you weren't so "rich", other people wouldn't have to be so poor.
