The proverbial “the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun” comes to life.

Jon Lewis Alexander is an Iraq veteran currently working in a liquor store in Marionville, MO. A robber asks for money as he attempts to pull a gun, but Alexander pushes the robber’s arm down and draws his own gun. The description below the YouTube video explains that Alexander told the robber to leave before he would “blow his (expletive deleted) head off.”

Am I alone in thinking/hoping that Iraq and Afghanistan veterans turn out to be a subgeneration of heroes for decades to come?

I would have liked to have seen Mr. Alexander call the cops while holding the thug at gunpoint but it probably would have been too difficult to dial a phone with one hand while holding his gun in his other (dominant) hand.

Howdy Thunder
I agree, but that's why 911 is so easy to dial.

The problem is that the Obama Admin views US Veterans as potential terrorists. While we normal people will view those who fought and are fighting for our freedom as heroes, Obama, Ayers, Soros, Pelosi, Reid, etc., will view them as threats to their leftists/fascists threats. Hence the attempts at gun confiscation/control, attempts to eliminate religion from the military (just like the Nazis did - oops, I said it).

Well, someone once wrote about a society that was built after veterans came home from "another war they weren't allowed to win" and decided they'd had enough.

Cue gun-control lobby: "He should have just given him the money! Somebody might have gotten HURT!"

This happened years ago in Billings and the video still haunts me. A young man of 17 went to rob a liquor store. The clerk was a young man of 23, recently a father. The clerk goes along entirely with the robber, handing over all that's in the till. The robber pulls the trigger on his pistol -- and it doesn't fire. He still has the safety on. The robber releases the safety and kills the clerk.
Yeah, somebody might get hurt. Even those who go along with the criminals might get hurt.

I saw DOJ figures some years ago that indicated that you were most likely to be injured/killed during a crime if you co-operated completely with the criminal. You were least likely to be injured/killed if you put up an active defense.
