During today’s IRS hearing before the House Government Oversight and Reform Committee, Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) took a detour that she may regret. Holmes Norton lauded the IRS officials who were testifying before the committee, which at that point were Carter Hull and Elizabeth Hofacre.

Hull and Hofacre are among the IRS agents who were involved in scrutinizing Tea Party and conservative groups. Both testified that they were acting on orders from their superiors in Washington.

Hofacre worked in the Cincinnati office that IRS Washington official Lois Lerner blamed for the abuse. Lerner broke the story in a conference call in May, while blaming “rogue employees.” Hofacre would have been one of those so-called “rogue employees,” as would Hull. Lerner had blamed them, without directly naming them, for the abuse.

Hofacre testified before the committee that Lerner’s statement hit her and her office like a “nuclear strike.” It was devastating, because the IRS officials in Cincinnati have said all along that they were only doing what their superiors in Washington were telling them to do.

During her inquiry time, after lauding Hull and Hofacre, Norton said, “I don’t see any rogue employees.” She said that she saw before her American civil servants who were just doing their job.

That is pretty much the point that the Tea Party groups and the Republicans on the committee have been making all along. The Cincinnati IRS office had not gone rogue, but was acting under orders from Washington. Hull’s testimony put the blame squarely in the office of the IRS chief counsel, William Wilkins.

Norton, accidentally, agreed with that assessment.

The "liberal" ship sailed 40 years ago in the Democratic party...

Carter was inept to say the least. He had roughly 10 times the communists in his administration than FDR. Then the Clintons arrived. Bill, smart guy in many ways, but a total idiot in others that really mattered went along with Hillary on many fronts.

For those unaware, Hillary's senior thesis was a big fat slobbering, poorly written, love affair upon the virtues of Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals."

Same book upon which when Barry was disbarred and destitute decided to make that same book the foundation of his future career as a communist agitator.

It begs the question, but you folks know the topic of the book... right?

Just in case, here is the only topic of the book:

It is a blueprint on how to destroy freedom and the Consitituion such is based on by attacking every element of society by infiltrating the institutions in order to acheive the ulimate goal of destroying the USA in order to not only bring about communism in the USA, but worldwide communism.

Problem is... they are now winning.

Next week's story: a rogue FAA intern directed the IRS to scrutinize all the Tea Party returns.
More and more, the IRS scandal sounds like a couple 6 year olds trying to make up a story about how mom's lamp got broken.

It wasn't an accident. Credit it to 'compensating errors'.
Voters erred in getting her there and she erred in opening her yap.
Sometimes, it just feels good to sit back and watch this crap. "This" was one of 'those' times when opening your mouth, etc. is just is too fine for mere words.
Keeping a paper bag by the remote sure is handy, though.............

The revelations keep getting more and more disturbing. Who will pay for these outrages. As it stands, political abuse of power is being unpunished. The additional damage of intimidating enemies is providing additional benefits for the criminals.

Eleanor Holmes Norton is one of the more articulate members of the Congressional Black Caucus.

That's as good a compliment as she merits.

Yet still a half-wit. Has the Congressional Black Caucus introduced legislation yet to prevent Guam from capsizing?

I didn't think it went that far, following CBS member Congressman Hank Johnson worrying out loud that Guam might sink under proposed US military build up.

Carter Hull testified that he was ordered to send documents to IRS Chief Counsel and Obama "appointee" Wilkins....tying the scandal directly to the White House. Even Fox News does not have it on the front page as a headline or a "Fox News Alert". Is there any "journalist" in America with either integrity or a conscience? What now, Issa? Indictment....?

Remember BENGHAZI!

"You've become a barochen record on this stuff; Congress has no power to indict and the US Attorney works for the Junta. "

I fully agree with Art. It's long past time you took a basic civics class and learned how our government is set up. You like to keep blaming Issa for not doing anything, when in fact, he's doing everything that is within his power.

He just doesn't have much power.

You've become a barochen record on this stuff; Congress has no power to indict and the US Attorney works for the Junta. Articles of Impeachment passed by the House would be like peeing your pants in a dark suit; it would give you a warm feeling and nobody would notice. Nothing any Democrat could do would get an impeachment conviction out of the Democrat controlled Senate. Unless and until somebody finds state law charges to bring against these thugs, they can be thuggish with impunity.

Yes, impeachment proceedings would go nowhere and produce nothing except sarcastic laughter from The Regime, if they even bothered to notice. That's why the mid-terms are life and death - we must take The Senate and keep The House. State charges, though, sound like an intriguing possibility. Ohio has a R Governor, maybe there's an opening there regarding the IRS. Oh, clever pun.

This would be hilarious if it wasn't such a sad commentary on the state of liberalism today, which is that honesty is usually avoided at all cost. Here is a woman of limited intellect who simply lost track of the lies she tells on a day-to-day basis and told the truth on accident. Congrats to her, I guess, on her accidental honesty.

???

Anybody who thinks Bill Clinton is a "centrist" or "moderate" needs to call me about the bridge I have for sale.

They are both hard-corp Marxists.

During their administration America hadn't fallen as far, so they weren't as free to push the Marxist agenda as Obama has been, but that's the ONLY reason they didn't.
