Here’s the early info from the Sun-Times:
Former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. has signed a plea deal with federal prosecutors, according to a source familiar with the matter.
The latest development comes in the ongoing federal investigation of Jackson’s alleged misuse of campaign funds.
Sneed first tipped this week that the deal includes significant prison time and that Jackson’s wife, Sandi, the former alderman, feels as if she were thrown under the bus by her husband.
Just another jailed Democrat lieutenant in the War on Women.

Remember, for a member of the Ruling Class, any number greater than 0 is “significant” jail time. So this really is news. Now if he was one of us little people it would be worse.
They must have an awful lot on him then.
The rotted fruit didn’t fall far from the Rainbow Tree, did it?
– Obama, the beat goes on.
Well, I’m certainly glad they were able to work out a sentence that everyone was comfortable with. It wouldn’t do simply to throw the book at such an important man. That kind of treatment should be reserved for actual criminals. /sarc
Club Fed may not be so bad. Likely he’ll be in a minimum security wing where a private chef can keep him in fighting trim.
If true, this makes him lock for any political office he ever wants to run for.
He could be the next Mayor of Washington DC!
I may have missed it; I haven’t been following this. Was JJJ ever indicted? I did a quick Bing and saw lots of may be’s and to be’s, but no pages describing an actual indictment. I didn’t see a page about him being arraigned, either.
Why is that? Why does it seem this whole thing is be happening behind closed doors, where the actual charges, the plead down charges, the sentenced determined and both JJJ and the government sign off on it prior to the public knowing much of the details about it?
Is this just a mis-impression on my part because I didn’t follow it in detail? Maybe I’m just jumping the gun here and the deal still need to go before a judge in Chicago for approval and the public will hear about it all before the judge brings the gavel down on it’s approval.
Hmmm, could it be that The Powers That Be don’t want to enter any written information about charges against the guy, since that might get curious reporters digging in a certain direction? Also, if no charges are levied, then none of the peon class can say “I can’t believe that guy only got 3 months for THAT! The fix sure must be in!!”
Just another example of “the most transparent administration in history.”
What a f*cking joke.
“since that might get curious reporters digging in a certain direction”
I doubt too many of the people masquerading as “reporters” today will be interested in doing anything with a Democratic scandal beyond burying it as deeply as possible. A few enterprising activists like the ones who took down ACORN may be able to do a lot if pointed in the right direction though, and the ruling class really does not want us to know just what sorts of vile things may fall to the ground if you shake the right tree.
The fix is indeed in.
I was fine until I saw the phrase “curious reporters”.
Slipping into another language does not help you communicate any better.
