Nice Deb has all the details. Rep. Paul Ryan was booed at the inauguration by some in the crowd when he came out onto the capitol steps. A DOJ voting section lawyer is bragging on Twitter that he egged the crowd around him into the booing. The DOJ lawyer’s name is Dan Freeman.
Mr. Freeman comes to the Voting Section following a fellowship at the New York Civil Liberties Union. He previously interned at the ACLU, where he assisted the organization with its efforts to attack the Bush administration’s national security policies. He also helped to challenge the “state secrets privilege” and to support the rights of terrorist detainees at Guantanamo Bay during an internship at Human Rights First.
On his resume, Freeman proudly notes his membership in the liberal American Constitution Society, as well as his service as co-chair of the Yale Law School Democrats. Of course, being a member of the American Constitution Society does not bar you from federal employment. Yet the Bush administration was castigated for hiring lawyers who were members of the Federalist Society. Incidentally, Mr. Freeman is helping lead the Voting Section’s review of redistricting submissions from the state of Alabama.
Sounds like a typical Obama appointee.
Flashback: If the name Dan Freeman sounds familiar to you, it should. He turned up in PJM’s Every Single One series.

– in background of his photo. Is he from S.F.?
So now they can turn up the volume – with a fresh 4 year term to protect them these lefty loons are feeling less inhibited in voicing their displeasure at those they do not agree with.
Or maybe he was simply racked by a fit of uncontrollable braying?

Disbar. At the least, fire. Any case they bring against Ryan or anyone around him now has an arguable reason being thrown out or overturned.
“Marred” or not is in the eye of the beholder.
After all, First Wookiee Michelle Obama “marred” one of the televised Obama-Romney debates by violating expressly stipulated ground-rules against clapping by *leading* a volley of applause.
Perhaps the headline would best read “DOJ Voting Section Lawyer Follows Administration Brownshirt-Style Intimidation Protocol by Booing Rep. Paul Ryan at Inauguration.”
Change the skin color of a few principals here and there, and what you’ve got is a Huey Long presidency.
Jackasses like this are either so ignorant of history as to truly believe that this, too, shall NOT pass, or they are dangerous nihilists who embrace the eat-drink-and-be-merry lifestyle, knowing but not caring that tomorrow they will die. Either way, the worm will indeed turn, Mr. Freeman, and on that day, where will you hide. With thanks to Messrs. Gilbert and Sullivan:
“And that Nisi Prius nuisance, who just now is rather rife,
The Judicial humorist — I’ve got him on the list!
All funny fellows, comic men, and clowns of private life —
They’d none of ‘em be missed — they’d none of ‘em be missed.
And apologetic statesmen of a compromising kind,
Such as — What d’ye call him — Thing’em-bob, and likewise — Never-mind,
And ‘St— ‘st— ‘st— and What’s-his-name, and also You-know-who —
The task of filling up the blanks I’d rather leave to you.
But it really doesn’t matter whom you put upon the list,
For they’d none of ‘em be missed — they’d none of ‘em be missed!”
“Either way, the worm will indeed turn, Mr. Freeman, and on that day, where will you hide.”
Probably not, actually; Republicans have never gotten it through their nice, thick skulls that when a Republican takes over from a Democrat s/he absolutely MUST fire everyone that s/he legally can fire. Republicans at all levels of government come in, put a few friends, contributors, and cronies in the visible places and leave all the Democrats sitting right there. Then they spend their term wondering why they are being leaked, thwarted, and sabotaged at every turn.
My state has had a Republican governor since Frank Murkowski was sworn in in December of 2002 and a good third of the appointees even today were appointed in the Democrat Knowles administration or before. The kind of person who can stay on at the policymaking/appointee level either has no principles and will do anything that gets another day of retirement credit or is the kind of person who’ll stay as a sleeper waiting for the opportunity to do damage.
And to think I thought those in government would try to use the methods of the mob.
– store in your memory and the days are coming this year when you shall repay these these insults without mercy.
What a low class scum
