Dancing around the issue. The political ads almost write themselves don’t they?
Mark Begich is as nervous as a whore in church; anything he does to support Obama and the gungrabbers is suicide in Alaska.
I agree in theory Art, however, the facts are even worse:
I wrote both Begich and Murkowski just after the New Year. Begich replied on 7 Jan plainly stating additional gun-control measures will not make America safer, and he does not believe in them or support them. Murkowski finally got around to replying yesterday. Her letter says everything is on the table, and all “responsible” measures should be considered “for the children”. I did double check her letterhead, and yes, she still claims to be a Republican.
I dislike Begich’s social agenda, pro-union malfeasance, and tax-and-spend (and then spend some more!) proclivity, but at least his actions aren’t an outright subversion of the Constitution. I wish I could say the same about Murkowski.
I’m left with a bit of a conundrum: What does it mean when a Democrat is more of a Constitutionalist than a Republican?
It means its time to primary the Republican with a conservative.
We did that, and actually won the primary with Joe Miller. Unfortunately, Miller’s election campaign was managed with all the skill of a drunken 10yr old performing a mole removal, and the full lobotomy that followed was the inevitable result. Murkowski ran a write-in campaign and, with the backing of all the Alaska Native groups, narrowly won the election.
Did I mention Murkowski is a strong advocate for 8A gov’t contracts? The type of no-bid contract directed to and won by Alaska Native corporations and then promptly sublet to Haliburton, DynCorp, General Electric, KBR, CH2M Hill, and a slew of other non-native, non-small businesses for a huge profit to them, and a large tax burden to us?
Art – Think he might try to snivel his way to Interior Secretary? Cheers -
Hey, more pornography and Michael Moore exploitation movies, less rapes and fewer movies to take seriously. I swear but that boy is fatter than Michael Moore; he could use some definite food control. Given that all the recent shooters have been skinny geeks high in lap top expertise, there must be a link between low carbo diets high in fiber and mass killings?
– more for exercise.
He just won re-election. Montana voters – enjoy 4 (or is it 6?) more years of being represented by this idiot. By the way, your other Senator is even worse.
All those Kalifornicators who moved to Montana, bought large ranches with their Hollyweird riches and ruined the state.
Actually it reminds me more of the rape scene from Deliverance. Squealing all the way. Cheers -
IMO, the “bottom line” will have to be that “we the people” stop electing double-talking, obfuscating, mealy-mouthed political hacks to represent US, regardles of their party affiliation. “How many angels can dance on the head of a pin” is NOT “the conversation we need to have” in this country. Senator Tester proved true to his surname in dipping his “toes” in just about every drop of political waters on this issue, while semi-skilfully avoiding the too hot and too cold. To remember: That’s how he managed to become elected in the first place. Whose fault was that?!
